I just noticed Neve has a prosthetic, making her disabled. Thus acceptable to the tumblr subculture.

(Attractive women must have some sort of defect or weakness-you can't have a character that sticks too close to cisheteronormativeablism).

Ya they have a checklist. Disabled, POC, trans, queer, vitiligo, autism... tick, tick, tick.

Lucanis seems, however, designed to be the token tortured bad boy for the cat ladies - a bit too obvious, like a Cullen or Anders designed by committee.

I swear every fucking game and dlc in this series ends with scooby doo esque "here's the real villain". Also does every individual party member can die or is it just binary "everyone lives/dies", is there even a choice where assigning the wrong person can fail catastrophically?
DA2: the real villain is Red Lyrium/Corypheus
DAI: the real villain is Solas
DAV: the real villain is...

Nothing comes close to the DA2 Fenris insanity. The closest thing would be the Astarion fandom in BG3.

Fenris murders his sister, breaks his word, kills innocents, constantly loses his shit, calls for mages to be killed. Gaider openly stated he hated how female fans loved his character, he felt they gave him too many passes for his questionable behavior.

They are all the same freaking sparkling archetype, that's why. There is something about... the hair, I guess, maybe the voice or the cheekbones... that make cat ladies and wine moms gush like a waterfall down below.

The people that made it and the company that financed it.

If I had to guess it's the voice, hair, cheekbones, and the angsty, tortured personality (women love to "fix" men I find).

The most bizarre aspect about this scene is how Taash’s mother is speaking like a fucking Vulcan. No joke she speaks directly like a Vulcan character from DS9.

The same intonations. Everything.

Did the writers watch too much Star Trek and get Vulcan stoicism confused with Qunari stuff?

Also even more hilariously-the mother literally says “oh you’re like one of the Qunari that want to change gender roles” that Iron Bull mentions and Taash throws a troontrum.

It’s probably written by some tranny expressing their rage at a parent that wasn’t totally affirmative.

I’m super confused here-like the Qun is portrayed negatively, but negatively because it’s basically conservative gender roles(or the troon writer is projecting their own upbringing onto it).

Projection. These people can only write therapy sessions to exorcise their angers, frustrations, and many failures in life.

Remember: they claim to be happy as troons, but if they did take hormones, it messed up their bodily functions (sex hormones do more than just make one grow facial hair - they are also involved in many key metabolic processes), and sex reassignment surgery leads to nu-vadge or nu-phallus that do not work like the real things. They will always have a painful reminder that they do not function as the sex they left behind as well as the sex that they have embraced. There is a very real reason why therapy used to the mainstay of treating gender dysphoria and sex/hormone treatments are considered the last resort - there is no return once you begin, and you will exist in a state of half- and half- of each gender but never really any of them.

Also, many current trans don't really have gender dysphoria. They conflate their own autism, failures, or issues that make them feel unhappy with their lives as "Oh, this means I'm not really myself, I'm a boy/gal in the wrong body!" and imagined transitioning would magically cure all their issues. Spoiler: it won't.

So yeah, always angry, always needing love and respect that rarely comes. Because of this, their trans status becomes their entire identity - because it's all they have left.

Except for non-binary - those are just straight or gay mutants making up a tag to be super extra attention whores. Fuck off, Patrick Weekes. Staff Taash up your ass.

I find it fascinating that the Qun is treated as bad because…it’s basically a stand in for conservative gender roles/restrictions.

Not the drugging and mind breaking. Not the whole intolerant ideology or anything-that’s all so much fluff. But “gender roles that are socially enforced”-now that’s something the writers can rail against and make the Qunari come off as conservative or bigoted for.

Holy Hell-they somehow Woobified tbe Qunari and made them reactionary chuds at the same time.

How do you fuck things up this catastrophically?

So, wait a minute... if the Qun are all fine and dandy with trannies, why didn't Sten claim a female Warden was actually one of those on account of them being a warrior, even if just to rationalize it to himself?

Actually, you know what, that sounds like it would be a hilarious conversation where Sten tries to claim you're totally a tranny no matter what you say otherwise because that's the only way a woman could ever be a warrior.

If there's one thing I noticed, when it comes to coomers fictitious romance enthusiats.
Men are the most.
Women are the worst.
Or, in 4x nerd talk, men play wide and women tall.

You now remember this gem.
But, there's far, far worse out there, trust me.

Gay man completely misunderstanding human women is, to be fair, completely on brand for him.

Because DAO was written to be entertainment, not as a piece of self-fellating LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ+++ propaganda, and so that retarded concept didn't exist until Inquisition released in CURRENT YEAR (circa 2015).

Aside from the HoF, Sten is the character that seems the least likely to ever appear again. He's just too antithetical to everything modern Bioware stands for. (Coincidentally, Sten continues to be the best character in this entire decaying franchise.)

Absolutely.

I disliked Fenris because he was an unstable mongoloid, but I knew on the first playthrough that tumblerinas would love him. Smoker thin, edgelord, aggressive, non-human, and with a tragic backstory? Catnip to those girls. The fact that Gaydur couldn't understand is unsurprising.

I can't believe how in DA2 the only hetero options for wahmen are: a fucking straight terrorist who's imbued himself with a spirit of justice vengeance and a edgy warrior elf fuckboi. The only worth option is from a DLC.
And the other hand: you have a slutty pirate captain and a autistic mage blood elf.

At this point my next rogue run is basically hating everyone.
I still prefer Isabella pre-DA:V

Many of Origin's cast would not be created by nuBioware today as they were in Origins. Sten, Oghren, Shale, Zevran, Morrigan, and Leliana are definitely off the list. Probably Alistair too as he'd be a neutered wimp for daring to be a cis straight white male.

Both Male and Female Hawke are canonically volcels to me for those reasons.

I happened to check Kingdom Come Deliverance and, sure enough, it's still got Veilguard beat with a peak of 96,069. I could be wrong, but I think the all time peak for Veilguard was hit today and it's all downhill from here. It's a fun comparison as an "anti-woke" game, but also a good contrast to highlight the insane gulf that exists in development costs. Deliverance had a team of like 10 people and a budget of 36 million USD. We don't know specifically for Veilguard, but maybe somewhere around 200 million on the low end. It has to sell so, so much more to become profitable.

P.S. Does anyone else hate the Rook voice that's in all the YT clips posted here? (I'm assuming there's other options, but I don't know). It's like no matter the context, it has the same exact forced suave/seductive affectation. It'd fit as a generic AI voice reading the lines of the love interest in a women's romance novel or something. Or, not that it sounds the same, but for a similar idea in spirit, listen to the dipshit YouTuber 'CorpseHusband' who is also stuck in a fake 'sexy' voice 24/7.
