I woud have preferred to go explore Tevinter than whatever Veilguard is. Also what happened to cassandra? Is she still around or...?
i believe Veilguard is just this game's Inquisition order rather than a location, with Tevinter being a hub in this game (judging by how the game starts in Miranthous, the capital city of Tevinter which apparently also has sub regions much like Kirkwall had).

I remember there being a popular cope theory that a lot of what the Iron Bull tells his team about the Qun and Qunari is bullshit to gain their loyalty and trust. That could've been an interesting route to take but given the further pozzing of the series, I have zero doubts that they're going to continue down the "Qunari are strict but accepting people" road that they're on.
The Qunari being accepting of outsider cultures so long as they adhere to the Qun does sort of make sense? I was always under the impression that the Qunari were the Dragon Age equivalent of Muslims, who if I remember correctly would let infidels live among them as long as they didn't violate Sharia Law.

From what I remember about the Quanri

Dragon Age Origins:

Women can only be in certain roles (like priests) and they don't fight (that was even brought up when you play as a female Warden and Sten starts with "You look like a woman")

Dragon Age Inquisition

Qunari have their own secret police that spy on ther own people in a very 1984 style. Also renegades are hunted down because they are considered dangerous once they don't follow the Qun
and it's harsh disciplines anymore

If this gets turned into "Oh look at those poor things" I am gonna scream.
Don't forget that they made the strict gender roles of the Qun trans-inclusive in Inquisition.

Sten and the Arishok come across as being very irritated and frustrated with outsiders, having very little respect or patience with their customs and culture. Hell, I think one of Sten's 'high affection' lines is basically among the lines of, "When we come to conquer you faggots I will not look for you on the battlefield." Which is to say, I don't the Qunari as originally presented would've been too kind to outsider cultures.

Nah fam that shit got retconned hard in Inquisition. In Origins Sten had basically the same personality as Lazeal from BGS3.

A heavily xenophobic racial supremacist who hated outsiders.

I have no idea who wrote the initial Quinari lore but there's no way they were intended to be a Gypsy tribe that was totally down with homosexual ass fucking.

Qunari are Palestinians, Tevinters are run by Bibi stand-in, Seheron is Gaza

We're never going to have a character like that again, are we?

I do know this, but I tend to disregard everything Iron Bull says because I hate him. If I were the kind of guy who wasn't autistic about companions I'd ignore recruiting the fucker and having him taint my game.
The Qunari are still based in my mind. It's still real to me!
I don't like modern Obsidian or The Outer Worlds that being said I'll compliment that game on holding over a design philosophy from New Vegas in that there aren't any essential NPCs and if you find an NPC including your companions annoying or ugly you can just shoot them in the face.

In Inquisition after ugly lesbian elf or Gay Bull force their way into your party you just have to put up with them.

To be fair, I didn't think Sera was ugly. I just thought she was a retarded cunt.
It's weird too, because there were times I found myself warming up to her, only for her to start sperging out about the dalish again.
Also I was under the impression you could ignore their recruitment quests and just never let them join your party, or tell them to fuck off after they've joined.

Well, in DA1 most nations are just medieval/renaissance stand-ins for Europe.
Orlais is just France, Free Marches are Italy, Ferelden is England, Tevinter is the Byzantine Empire (Even with it's own pope) and the Qunari are the Ottomans.

If the damage control is true, you’re going to see a reasonably serious tone mixed with marvel quips and Whedon dialogue. “Uh there are demons pouring into Minthrathous, everyone is screaming and dying”

“Well…that happened,”

“Solas wants to bring down the veil”

“What are we, some kinda veil guard”

Solas: goes on some long soliquoy about the elves and the need to reconcile the world of matter and spirit,

“Hey Egg, you got any milk in those cartons”
Sounds like FF7 Rebirth to me.

I agree but Gaider is gone, so are most of the good writers. I can't believe I miss Hamburger Hepler.

Weekes is enough of a SJW to change all the nations to be more Progressive, and make them stand-ins for modern countries.

Gameplay trailer starts soon.
Here are what modern DA fans look like:

Also you don't need to recruit Sera or Iron Bull. I think a lot of the companions in DAI are optional, similar to the previous games.
I'm pretty sure the new idea they have for the Qunari is "Socialist utopian society where everyone is le equal and tranz disabled PoC can be anything they want".

EA should have sold Bioware to Microsoft while they were on a buying binge. M$ would have eagerly spent ESG money to buy a bag of magic deadnames and the rights to the ME and DA IPs. Fuck, they wanted Redfall and Starfield as tent IPs.
Microsoft should of bought bioware back in 2007 when they originally published it as a 360 exclusive. (Before EA acquired bioware and took over publishing)

In this screenshot: People hating on the game, and people who are the reasons others are hating on the game.
Comparing it to Andromeda was the only thing of worth being said. Everything else was color and dross.

I dunno, "loser month" and the guy who just posted a stack of wastebaskets seemed on point.
