Come on. He made such well researched and unbiased videos, and dropped it for this? I understand that making that shit takes a loooooong time (see: one or two videos per year), but it's so sad to see someone who is genuinely talented in making engaging video essays fall for the V-tuber trend.
Oh well, i guess we'll never see that final video.
 
I can't believe the (confirmed) furry involved in this video's production has the gall to give yet another tentative finish date for this. It means less than nothing when they were saying LAST September that it would be done before the end of the month.
 
He doesn't even offer anything of value on his Patreon - like he could easily do a monthly "ramble" video like other creators do with loose editing. The entire thing is surgery updates and explaining that it's totally done but not done.

His previous video about May Island (2 years ago!) was not particularly strong - it has 2 million views which would be good for anyone else but is low for him. I think if he ever finishes this thing it will get minimal engagement and he'll lose his mind.

I would also like to say, and this has been said a million times over, if you have to claim that you're smart, you're probably not. Smart people do not operate the way that psuedo intellectuals would like to believe. Smart people majority of the time don't use big words to describe things unless they have to articulate a point which requires more verbosity and technical terms or with more dramatic wording. They also know how to break down the most complex of topics using simplified language and relative terms. Intelligence in general depends on how fast someone can do this. If they can look at a complex topic at a glance and think "Wait, that's all there is to this?" they are probably a pretty high IQ individual. They also don't know that they're smart majority of the time unless there's an objective statistic that tells them so. They just look at things and say "well I didn't find that difficult, I just did this and I figured it out pretty quick".

Knudson, you're just a guy who reads wikipedia articles and conducts interviews, you're not a historian. You're just a guy who makes easily digestible videos that the average schmuck can turn on and understand from beginning to end. Don't oversell yourself.
 
Random power level and TMI but there's still a moment involving Fredrik and Jabroni Mike that lives rent free in my head to this day. They were doing one of their real estate photo streams where they look at wacky housing listings, and unprompted Fredrik commented on one of the eccentric looking houses that "white people live here" or something to that effect and just in general there was this continued vibe that Fredrik is a pozzed white guilt enjoyer.
 
I met Fred years and years ago at a regional game convention in the northeast. Nice guy but pretty weird, obviously. When he dropped to a new video every eight to twelve months you knew there were problems. And even though I liked his last video about the boats, even then it was clear he wasn't really loving what he did.

Sucks because the Deep Blue video was great and the boat video (despite negative reception) was pretty good.

Pressing X to doubt. Seems to be him covering for Fred taking his time. Unless he animated actual space battles, more than half a year a delay is pretty ridiculous. And if Fred is turning to Spoony then he probably thrown out a ton of work due to perfectionism.
 
I'm kind of surprised none of his unusual behavior has spilled over into YouTube. I'm subbed to him and honestly had no idea what the guy was up to before hearing this news. I had heard (from other channels) there was a very long EVE video in the works, but otherwise assumed the channel was inactive.

He keeps doing this gay "eeheehee" giggle, too. It's genuinely creeping me out. He spent like 10 minutes in the menu just explaining the game and not interacting with his chat at all.

I havnt watched vtubers before besides clips that get shared around here. Does his character look really "souless"? I know they all look like possessed dolls but his character seems to just open and close its mouth with the eyes going crazy.

Also he talks way to fast, he sounds like hes on 1.5X speed.

I have a friend who's into vtubers, and he showed me some video where a really popular vtuber was explaining it. You basically have to really exaggerate your facial expressions if you want them to look at all decent on the model, and there are a bunch of retards like Fred who dump 4-figures on a model but keep doing neutral faces into their webcam which makes them look weird. He's basically just dumped a ton of money into this production value, but he's not putting any effort into improving his performance.

He still hasn't interacted with his chat even once during this stream. It's just watching a middle-aged man with agp talk to himself while he stares at his anime self-insert and giggles.

Found the video, spoilering it for cringe because vtuber.
