This is getting stupid.
No, this is ID Software showing how much they understand their community and love them back. Show me ANY modern day company that would have this much fanservice and self aware silliness without shoving a paywall behind it.

I believe this is exclusive to Twitch Prime subscribers. That being said, it fits the Twitch community like a fucking glove.

I finished Resurrection of Evil for the first time. I quite enjoyed it, it goes for a more action-oriented approach than the base game and is also somewhat more challenging to boot. I actually died more in RoE than I did in Doom 3. The new toys the game gives you such as the Super Shotgun are also pretty sweet, though the Grabber can be occasionally broken (it's insane how fast it kills Hell Knights). It's also got a more satisfying ending than Doom 3 (and by that I mean you get an actual fucking boss fight with the antagonist and not just toss a superweapon at a giant monster 3 times). On the whole, it's Doom 3 without the fat, which is probably why I think it may be more fun than the original.

RoE showed greater potential in Doom 3's approach to the series, and that's why I'm a little sad we may never see that again. Don't get me wrong, Doom 2016 is probably the best thing to happen to the series and perhaps this gaming generation, but there is something to how Doom 3 was a more horror-focused. slow paced affair in stark contrast to the rest of the series.

I'm a sucker for Doom 3's radio chatter when the invasion starts.

I loved getting to see and hear shit the fan then just deal with the silent aftermath. Its something I'm excited about with Eternal compared to 2016.

Its also some of the parts I liked in Quake 4 where you hear all the other marines doing their thing and having their own misadventures.

Doom 3 might be the black sheep of the franchise, but I really thought it nailed the atmosphere of having an off-planet base overrun by demons really well. Cheap monster closets aside, I absolutely loved the attention paid to making the UAC Mars Base look plausible and livable.

Oh hi there Icon of Sin, how's it been?

This trailer is like blantant fucking teasing before the hardcore sex ensues; it's enraging, arousing and painful for the poor guy involved, but then when the promised time comes all that anger melts away like butter on a frying pan.

It was a good fucking decision to pre-order that deluxe edition; next week is gonna be fucking KILLER.

I love the idea of Hell being so afraid of Doomguy that they try to remake the Betrayer's Son/Icon of Sin into their own version.

Edit : That leads me into a guess about the ending of Eternal

The end is Doomguy and Icon of Sin being thrust into a pit of hell so deep that both souls are trapped, leading to a never ending rage fueled combat fest between the two, where if one is killed they instantly respawn.

I appreciate how similar to the Doom 2 texture the Icon looks, but where's the skeletal features and exposed brain? Also, we already saw the NuDoomiverse's Icon's corpse(?) in the Titan's Realm, so has he been resurrected or something?

I really hope the Icon isn't the final boss and is just a midpoint boss or something. It would be fantastic if they tricked you by making it seem like he was the final boss since "Remember the final boss of 4 was the final boss of 1, now the final boss of 5 is the final boss of 2!" and then you beat him and it turns out there's actually still like four hours left in the game.

The Idea of The Demons working for thousands of years while the Slayer slept preparing to revive the Icon as a Hell-based counterpart to him, promising that The Icon would get to unleash it's anger at being killed by the Slayer upon countless worlds once the new body based on The Slayer's body is cool and pretty fucking metal.

Hell is absolutely terrified of the Slayer and they want his ability to kill.
