Why is he even famous anyways? I’m pretty sure the majority of Japanese gamers would kick his ass in a fighting game if they had the chance. Just because he’s an ameriburger doesn’t make him any more special.

Shit talking, being an annoying furry, winning a whole lot of tournaments while wearing his dumb costume. He mostly plays stuff that the Japanese don't play. The major exception is Dragon Ball Fighters, and he won that.

He's only brought up by people who want to make the FGC be diverse. hell I first heard of him the guy I know described him as "a gay black furry who's good at fighting games" no specific accomplishments, not his rank, nothing but what he is instead of what he has done. In that why I have to wonder, while SonicFox does spurg, how much of that is him naturally and how much is it him being pigeonholed as the "gay black furry FGC player" and taking that up to keep notoriety.

I don't think this thread has harped enough on how he talks about being a gay, black furry. He's a gay, black furry? And that's his personality? For seven pages? Also he plays video games real good and got a swollen ego over it? And he's 20 years old?
The only thing I really find objectionable is wanting to buy Jordan Hunt a meal, because fuck Jordan Hunt. SonicFox's worst crime is being obnoxious and a diva, but from all those "IM GAY" tweets, it's clear he doesn't take himself too seriously. That could change if the people around him continue to put him on a pedestal, though.
And as far as his WOKE-ness goes, he doesn't even want to gas all white people. It's a lot of posturing with not a lot of substance or deeper thought. The guy's not an activist, he just plays video games real good. He's big-headed.
I can see him growing out of it because he's still young, but unless he does something that's actually controversial and not just cringey, I don't see this thread going anywhere except maybe other people familiar with esports talking smack, because those are the most interesting posts in the thread.
He reminds me a lot of a dude I went to college with who was this short, feminine black dude who wore a Tails hat all the time and had this high-pitched voice and was weirdly endearing. I kind of miss that guy. I hope he's doing well.

I’ve always sort of had the feeling that at least some of his flamboyancy is intentional trolling due to how much the rest of the fighting game community hates it. Sucks to see him doubling down on social justice stuff though.
His Twitter is a really good way to find wild cows. Just pick any tweet with a bunch of responses and look for the angry responses coming from game/esports related handles. Bitching at him is the gamer version of screaming at trump.

Except he's a 4x EVO Champion at fighting games and kicked the assess of the JP at their own titles? He's been entering tournaments for at least 7 years and he's always performed well in them. Despite his IMGAYBLACKFURRY there's no denying he's actually damn good at what he does and won his award fairly. I mean if you're gonna contribute at least Google the guy first.

We dealt with this same situation right after The Game Awards happened, but it took place in Drama General and got annoying enough I had to issue a general warning.
Furry a-logs are nothing new to Animal Control. They typically self-immolate after a day or two.
