Splash Mountain, by itself, is pretty much Song of the South with everything offensive taken out of it.
Bolded and underlined for emphasis. There is nothing fucking offensive to be found in Splash Mountain, unless you hate the voices of black people. Brer Rabbit is really a positive figure because he's smart (usually), can quickly think his way out of a tight situation, while playing a prank on his would-be captors to boot (the same reasons why Speedy Gonzales is beloved in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America). You can't even complain about whitey hating Brer Rabbit either, since Brer Fox and Brer Bear are also voiced by black men. Brer Fox was originally voiced by James Baskett, even.

Tianas Resturant needs to be made too but they're not smart enough for that.
I'm surprised they haven't renovated the beignet place into one themed after The Princess and the Frog, honestly. Then again I think the arcade in Tomorrowland should be made into Witlack's Arcade from Wreck-It Ralph, so there you go.

If they had the tar baby in the ride like the movie, well, they'd have a point about the racism. But it's not in the ride, so they don't.

He is a rich part of black American folklore. Also have Disney start donating to the preservation of the La Brea Tar Pits.

I have a very complicated love/hate relationship with Disney.

I have a lot of fond memories from my childhood, watching alot of their animated movies and even some of their live action stuff. I still like to watch those from time to time, because they really hold up well.

But at the same time, Disney, especially in the last decade, have ruined so much good stuff in the name of PC Culture, be it Star Wars or Marvel.

It's like a women not being able to get away from her abusive husband, because deep inside of him, there are alot of good things about him.

Tar is only natural to our everyday life on this planet.

That's how I feel. The Disney of my youth was excellent and to see it now just puts an ugly taste in my mouth.

First Western River Expansion, then that.

Also rethemeing Splash Mountain is a slap in the face to Tony Baxter.
That's true, poor guy. It seems like it's always after their deaths when they start messing around with their creations.

apparently Disneyland (California) is opening back up in July too, saw 17th as the date

No reason for tri-state peopel to go though, the govenor of florida extended indefinitely the quarantine order for people coming from those states. Funny thing is their cases are sky rocketing while tri-state area is dropping.

I love the Disney Date: Princes of Voice series. Here are some of the songs from it:

Takahiro Sakurai's cover of When You Wish Upon a Star is probably one of the best versions of the song. Miyu Irino's Under the Sea is also really good.

Also, every song they've given to Koichi Yamadera has turned out amazing. You can hear Circle of Life in this medley, but he also did a great job with Everybody Wants to Be a Cat and Great Spirits.

At least there's one country that appreciates Disney's past than we do.

I am an unapologetic fan of classic Disney, but it's undeniable they've taken a bad turn in recent years.

What do they think will happen, Splash Mountain gets converted to a Star Wars or Marvel ride and magically, police brutality stops? This is how you know the protests have lost momentum, now it's all about canceling cop shows and Splash Mountain, things that only accomplish making armchair liberals feel better.

Splash Mountain is popular among parks fans and Disney is only woke when it doesn't get in the way of their profits—and they don't have the money to make any changes due to the pandemic making them bleed money to the point of canceling several ongoing construction projects—so most likely nothing will happen.
Ahem. Murphy's Law. Also you forget that Disney is retarded now.

Of course. So not only Splash Mountain, they'll probably be looking at changing Tiki Room and anything related to Native Americans (Thunder Mountain?) I wouldn't be surprised if this was in part to serve Iger's fucktarded vision of everything at the parks being connected to an IP they've acquired.

And Iger probably wants the supremely positive reputation among Dems of being the guy who "saved Disney from its bigoted past", especially if he really does want to run for president.

Let's see what the current businessman turned Orange Man has to say about shit like that:

Regardless of how you feel about Trump, at least he had an idea of what he wanted to do as president. Iger I can't see as anything but a DNC neoliberal stooge, especially since he embodies their values of woke pandering on the outside, soulless corporate hegemony on the inside. Hopefully the Current Year political shitshow causes enough of a shakeup that President Iger is no longer viable.

It's only a rumor, Iger's on his way out anyway... and like I said, having to rework Splash Mountain into a totally new attraction would cost a lot of fucking money. People don't realize what this would entail.

Bob Iger is probably one of the most despicable bigwigs in the modern entertainment industry now that Weinstein is in prison.

Worst part is that I think he sort of knew that the wind might be starting to shift against the woke culture that his era of Disney epitomized and he planned his exit before things went too south so he could more or less go out on top and not end up hated like Michael Eisner eventually was

Given that COVID-19 wrecking Disney's shit and the BLM insurrection being the last major make or break push for woke culture have complicated matters, I think Iger may have made an even smarter move than ever.

If the SJW push is completely successful, he'll be lionized as a hero who was ahead of the curve

If it fails and Disney takes another massive financial blow from one or more MCU box office flops, then Chapek will be left holding the bag and Iger's already got his golden parachute and a convenient fall guy

At the absolute most, I can see them maybe adding some "Princess and the Frog" related scenery on the ride as opposed to a complete overhaul.
