The MaAmazon thing makes sense, though. An entire race of tough, fierce, warrior women seems implausible. An entire race of tough, fierce, high-T warrior troons? That's a retcon I could believe.

New theory for history majors in need of material: we've been interpreting the ancient stories all wrong. "Amazons" were never ciswomen. They were a highly enlightened culture of MtF trans.

(this would also explain how an all-woman culture could reproduce; MtF transwomen + ciswomen = child-bearing lesbian couples)

Does this mean Budding is off the table? I can't see even real women wanting to fuck a mtf transmazon.

Sorry Ubishit! This generic sequel title is off limits to you and everyone else!

If you willingly give money to Blizzard you're a fucking retard.

They're only doing this because they're a not-insignificant population on old bnet still grinding for ethereals and they want those people buying mtx shit on modern pozznet instead.

This remake will be 50% cum like the warcraft remake.

A D2 streamer got access to the alpha, it's got serious issues with loading times and enemies being hard to make out:

I'm with the rest of this thread, the original still runs and plays fine and updating the graphics isn't enough to shell out for a "new" game. I already own the original so I don't even care if they make the original free like they did with Starcraft 1/Brood War.

You forgot about the It's Ma'Amazon.

Alright well I ended up getting into the alpha. After playing a bit, this is just a straight up remaster (great for people who want proper remasters, and I'm not insinuating that it's a bad thing, really). Everything is the same, even down to the shitty and outdated ARPG key bindings. Couldn't even get a slightly bigger character stash or an option to always show items on the ground for QoL improvements. Nothing really new or groundbreaking outside of the graphics. It's pure nostalgia bait. They did a fine job bringing D2 into the modern age, but dishing out $40 for it? To Blizzard to boot? Eh. If anyone is that desperate, find it on a key site to cut out ActiBlizz.

Median XL or even just the original might still be the way to go. Or Grim Dawn, or PoE/PoE 2, Last Epoch, or wait for D4.

Thumbs up for the bang up job Vicarious Visions put in, and I can see the appeal for people who will buy it. But I think it's gonna be a pass for me, personally.

Just finished my playthrough the game is pretty sick, graphics are dark like d2 should be, effects like spells look great and feel good to cast. I just hope this isn't gonna be a case of polished alpha with bug ridden and clunky release. Complaints are nitpicky at best.

big pros are
-shared stash (no more mules needed)
-gambling screen refresh button
-thus far game feels faithful to the original no huge balance changes

cons are
-blizzard will find a way to fuck this up
