could never finish a D3 playthrough because I just could not handle my necromancer running around looking goofy in bright blue and clown red. Terrible design choice. If D4 doesn't have that then that's a win for me.
By the time the necromancer in 3 came out, you could dye your gear in town for practically free, any colors/combinations. Same thing in 4 now. Their transmog systems were very robust and had a lot of good looks, 3 moreso than 4 atm.

4 has the levelling speed of 2, minus cow level grinds or any party tricks, good for now but I hope they speed it up a ton. It's nearing 3 gameplay hours grind per level in the last 30 if you're solo casual. They can't both hang onto the vibe of D2 pre-expansion where max level was not expected(partly because of XP loss on death & the high difficulty) and people FULLY engaging with the Paragon Board system and grinding Nightmares for Glyph XP/levels. The first board is faggot shit and it doesn't even approach interesting until your third board, but being 75+ is rough.

I really want to see how good the seasons are, because there's a ton of shit they need to add from just Reaper of Souls for quality of life, let alone content that competes with POE's Delve or Atlas.

Why are there no pets that pick up gold and mats for me yet? Easy cosmetic money. After playing(and mastering) the final season of D3 where they let you improve the pet functionality, this is such a step back I'm almost disgusted. Someone else pointed out the massive disconnect between combat minion design iterations and how 4's necro is way behind 3's, and I can feel it. Occultist doesn't show critical options that 3's Enchanter did. I'm sure it;ll be an amazing game in 2028 when everything is ironed out years later like Reaper of Souls did, up to you if you feel like playing now and saving up a bunch of cosmetics to flex on late adopters later. I flexed angel wings on 3 for years, it feels pretty good.

Finished the story today, going into hell at level 38 probably wasn’t the smartest move but at least it made it challenging. Died a couple times to Lilith due to poor positioning.
Going to alternate between map completion and whatever the end game grind/gearing is so I don’t burn out on either. Might give another class a whirl too when I’ve progressed some into postgame and paragon stuff.

Any tips for how to approach end game? I know there’s some dungeon I need to do at world tier 2 but beyond that I have no idea.

So this game is fuckin' dead. No one is playing on my friends list anymore and Season 1 is so underwhelming it's phenomenal.

Instead of playing because it's so god damn boring, I've been enjoying reading salty redditors on r/diablo and r/diablo4 get upset with people rightfully calling it a pile of dog shit. That was fun for several weeks, then comes along The Act Man who caused so much butthurt with his first video shitting on it, that he made a follow up which pissed them off even more. This has emboldened more people calling it as they see it and the retards to froth at the mouth.

I beat the story with a Rogue, I got into Nightmare with a Sorcerer, but then stopped cause I knew if I pushed into Torment I'd not be interested in trying the season.

Gonna go Druid for season 1 and see how it is, dunno if it'll hold my interests though. I don't hate the game, I think it has some good ideas for the genre, but it needs a lot of work fleshing it out.

I'll probably at least experience the new content and then drop it until Season 2.

Considering this thread was dead for over a month after about two weeks from release, that says a lot about how good the game is. I got the feeling it would suck pretty early on though.

To be fair Kiwifarm (clearweb version) is barely functional during this time.

I think D4 will be a very good game after a few big updates. It is very obvious it was rushed for business reason.

He's right about Diablo 4.
He has many bad takes but he was spot on with diablo 4 imo. Big fan of diablo 1-3 but 4 is just a snooze fest. Can't believe I bought into the hype feelsbadman. Sure it might be good in a few seasons but it was obviously rushed. I don't think people will be very willing to come back in a years time tho.

The other threads have been active enough in this sub section. All of the Blizzard games have been rushed, and most continued to stay trash lately.

There are a few bad takes, but for the most part Act Man got it mostly right this video which says a lot as he's a retard and even he can see it. I'm happy I played the beta and didn't get hooked, I'll buy it when it's 50%+ off.

If it wasn't dead before, it sure is now with this patch nerfing everything that was remotely fun to do and character power across the board in an attempt to make their season gimmick appealing.

No offense but I hate the "it was rushed" argument. The game was announced 4 years ago. Four fucking years of development is not "rushed" and people using this just justify shitty devs and terrible hiring and product practices.

A rushed game is when devs gets less than a year and a barely functioning engine, not four years, hundreds of devs and third party help and their own studio engine.

I’m still undecided what I’ll play for Season 1. I’ve got to tier 3 with Sorcerer and tier 4 with Barbarian. I’m torn between Druid and Necro. Leaning toward Necro to change things up from the melee focus of Barb. I’ll probably pick the basic battle pass up too to fill out some cosmetics that will hopefully not come up again. I was very late to the party on D3 and as @Haramburger said it will be fun to flex on people down the line with stuff they can’t have.

This latest pre-patch of nerfs is atrocious, it's like they're trying to actively chase users away. The season 1 cosmetics are going to be rare-ish because so many people won't even bother trying with how shit this malignant heart stuff is. Reddit is apparently going to start a bunch of D3 seasonal characters on the 20th in protest, will be funny if they follow through and the gaming press gets wind of it.

I wanted something Delve-ish for the first season to set the stage, but it's clear they're going to be as underwhelming as the first 16 or so seasons of D3. The only ones I can remember out of the first 16 were "all treasure goblin spawns are doubled(like literally where one appears, a second is hugging its butt) and "the Ring of Royal Grandeur is always on w/o you having to find and cube it." The 20's were kino though, with the Sacred white weapons, the soul shard fragments that counted as lv 125 gems and of course the Altar of Rites.

You're a G in 3 if you're wearing these:

I can't believe the last season is still playable, I thought it was going down in June tbh

Sure, but treating him as some mega le epic owner of fanbois is a bit rich. Dude doesn't have an unsafe opinion anywhere in his massive chin.

Echoing the pre patch disaster calls. My necromancer has dropped from Tier 70/80 nightmares, to struggling with Tier 50s. The changes to crit and vulnerability have seen more than half my damage dropped with no survivability to speak of. Fixing bugs and indirectly nerfing stuff is one thing, but these deliberate changes are way too dramatic for what the company's going for.

There's a dev talk coming on Friday where they'll be addressing this stuff at least.

To be honest I have made zero effort to really understand D4. I find skills that are fun and have some synergy and roll with it. If I feel like I’m lacking then I’ll switch things up.
How much of the player base do you think have gotten sweaty with numbers and the like, or read the patch notes and have an opinion of it?
I can only speak for myself and what comes up in clan chat. We are a very casual bunch and besides comments on the very broken things seeing a nerf there’s very little kvetching about other stuff being nerfed and problems they have with it.
All I did with the patch notes was look to see if any changes were made to Whirlwind and got on with my day.

It probably clashes with MATI, I'd rather hear the latest troon updates from Dear Leader than listen to these shitty devs make more colonoscopy jokes and waste their airtime live. Some streamer will sum up their BS by the evening and I can be 3x-4x madder at night as the weekend starts.
