The devs are playing along with it.

From their perspective it must be very gratifying to see such an overwhelmingly positive and passionate response to their new IP.

Helps that deadlock’s community is so far quite good and well behaved since the troons have no power in it so far.
We’ll see how it goes with time.

I’m just hoping the patch isn’t disappointing.

Edit: Why are my teammates so fucking retarded. I’m laning with a Wraith that died 5 fucking times to stupid shit. Do you feel shame for ruining someone’s night? You probably should. Are these the mandated losses after going on a 5-ish winstreak trying to unlock Yamato for ranked? My last two days have been dogshit.

My past few games I have noticed an uptick in players that don't seem to understand that the game is a MOBA, or even know what a MOBA even is. For example I was laning against a Haze the other day who was playing the game like it's a 3rd person shooter, hiding behind cover, not buying any items until about 10 minutes in (which I would put money on only happening due to his team raging at him), and not doing any macro whatsoever. That was probably the worst case I've come across, but there's been a few I've both played with and against recently that just don't seem to get the game's fundamentals at all even theoretically, let alone in practice.

I get that it's normal mode and I do set my expectations accordingly, but still you'd expect someone to at least have an idea of the very basics before they start playing. I do wonder if all the hype over the patch has brought in a cohort of new players that just don't have a clue what they're doing.

I think that's gotta be the case, was in my last match for unlocking infernus and my laning partner apollo was just off doing random shit instead of joining us in important team fights that we needed to take, it was a super frustrating match too, fucking 52 minutes, I wanted to smash my head into a wall by the end of it.

The other thing from that last shitshow match I mentioned. The Apollo I was laning against had several times where he just showed up to fights with a 1k+ bag. Not complaining in light of me getting most of them.

Standard matches feel like a humiliation ritual. Sometimes I queue with friends and have to play standard, and I get bored as fuck because I get stuck maintaining a sidelane while the rest of the team deathballs mid. I've just started giving up on macro and joining them. This shit usually never happens in ranked.
What are the chances that this'll be the 1.0 release? I vividly remember the day MTX were introduced and -override_vpk was unceremoniously guillotine'd from DotA 2, so i really hope they don't hit deadlock with the same "NO FUN ALLOWED" treatment :(
I don't think this will be 1.0 but I do think mods are getting nuked soon. I think it's gonna be whenever they add skins. They definitely have some plans to because they were mentioned in the old visual novels.

It's out.

Torn on what to think about this map. It's pretty yeah but holy shit does it lag horribly and at random with all the visual clutter. The teammate icons seem to cause a massive framerate drop too, just sitting in base and rotating camera while I was dead I could see it lose 10+ FPS if I had two or more onscreen at once.
