Man, the Crowbcat video basically tells you

This goes beyond just Erotica being gone and the ching chong getting replaced. Minor dialogue was changed and even store names were changed. And it just goes on and on and on and the worst part? There will still be people that act like this is benign and "Not a big deal".

Or what, niggah, are we suppose to wait until it is? How many times we went through this in the last 20 years? Its always "not a big deal" until it aint and by then its too late.
Now Dead Rising fans can feel how GTA fans do.

Did we have to? Didnt we suffer enough with Dead Rising 4? At least you guys still got a living franchise, this Remaster was a dying fart on this brand.

"Congratulations, you have proven that prettier graphics ( who needs stylization) are all you need to get the dumbass consumer to shill out 40 bucks"

It's also kindof nonsensical. It places the original in a distinct time period roughly matching up with Dawn of the Dead, the film it's most-obviously paying homage to.
One of the characters talks about how she wants to share everything that's happening on social media. In 2006. Oh yeah, I will take all these photos on my shitty brick phone camera and share them on Myspace, that's my priority during the zombie apocalypse. It's not like this was written by a millenial in 2020s that cannot understand a world without twitter, but it's safe to say they don't care about being period appropriate.

Oh there is a reason why I was shitting on it from before day one. I just want everyone to remember that Stipo burned his reputation for this piece of shit, lmfao!

Speaking about that, did anyone have an update on Stipo or did he fuck off from the public eye shilling out his credibility away to modern Capcom after his hilarious temper tantrum?

It seems fitting his final video until now is called "FINAL REVIEW", hopefully it is your last video, retarded fuckwit.

Its my hope that at least his older videos will be left be, Hell, wouldnt surprise me if his last fuck you to the internet is deleting everything so someone should download his videos, at least the good ones.

He's likely spending all his days in his echo chamber on discord or posting "memes" on twitter. Apparently he has now abandoned the original game and is modding the demake, which I am sure some people in this thread are ecstatic about. There is something hilarious about him dropping the game he has been sperging about for decades like dead weight to move on to the new product blindly, speaks volumes about the modern day consoomer.
I archived all his videos(ones that weren't privated anyways) and his big beta page on Dead Rising Mods forum, so if he fucked off today nothing of value will be lost.

Sounds about right but Stipo never came off to me as someone that knows how to mod, mostly trash surf for functional early build copies of Dead Rising 1.

Hopefully he fades into irrelevancy like he was in for sometime before the remake's announcement.

Good job!

Dude, let it go.

Happy Halloween!

What a waste of resource and staff, all of that talent for a 'remaster' only to make a fraudulent product with the voice actors just phoning in their performance and dumbing-down the difficulty to the point that it takes no effort for both the players and the employees to outright wallhack the Carlito boss fight, even showing this in the official Capcom livestream.

I think that there's a stigma in Capcom right now with their horror titles, they know that they can make more money in the west but in japan it sells less because of the newer generation are more scared of horror genre and more into causal stories, according to negative reactions from the Japanese Resident Evil trailers.

Anyway, Crowbcat did a great job researching what is wrong with the remake, it just comes to show how people are getting more weary over video game remasters/remakes/reboots these days.

This guy got linked here a while back, and Crowbcat reminded me I needed to finish watching this one. Seems he wasn't terribly impressed either. The dude sounds really weird and the video is not visually of high quality, but he raises some good points like the special forces being able to stun-lock you and the Real Mega Buster being completely neutered.

I remember playing the Duke nukem port on the n64. It was fairly mediocre compared to the dos version and I guess the n64 had like 1 mb ram or something compared to the dos's 2mb. You know what it did well though?
FUCKING MIRROR REFLECTIONS
It's all so tiresome. Good video though. They massacred my boy Larry.

Why is it that many remakes of games have less charm when using supposedly up to date game engines?

There's always this weird bright hazyness too. What the fuck is it even called, is it a filter of some sort?

Good lord, they fucked up the grocery store boss, he was the funniest one.

They made his voice acting feel mediocre.

Because the enginges are often hyper-specialized. The RE engine was designed for RE7. It takes a fuck-ton of effort to make anything besides a Resident Evil game look decent, and usually, the appeal of a remake is the groundwork has already been done for you.

Seriously why can't modern devs do working mirrors without RTX? I've seen people say that modern games have too much going on for it to work but that doesn't make sense. All you are doing is rendering the same scene but in reverse; if you can render large outdoor sequences surely you can render a mirrored room.

Are you suggesting that doubling the polycount is simple?

You render exact same assets in reverse. I don't understand why that is hard? These mirrors aren't sitting out in the open having to render sprawling hills and trees, they are in small rooms and closets where nothing is going on. It was certainly simple for the 360/PS3 generation and earlier.

Hitman 2 has working mirrors, NPCs can even see 47's reflection and react to it, and it's a 2018 game. Most modern dev companies just don't want to put work on them.

I think that's volumetric fog?

Ken silvermans build engine was able to do working mirrors properly back in 96 97. You don't need rtx for working mirrors, it's a result of the game essentially putting a camera into the mirror and putting its feed or at worst creating a parallel copy of the room with the player character and environmental objects. A lot of "details" in games comes down to simple programming tricks which make objects behave logically consistent. Logical consistency generally makes those details feel better than graphics can make them look better.

The guards aren't seeing your reflection... Thats not how their ai logic works. I know mechanically thats what it looks like but its a programming trick to just give them an additional vision cone
