There will be good video essays and drama on it, just like with Dead Rising 4 and Resident Evil 4 remake. Other than that, no it's inferior to the original in every sense and means that the era of Dead Rising being a niche little franchise is coming to an end. Looking forward to seeing all the modern day nu-gamer cattle crying about how it's still too hard and how it needs to be fixed for the sequel, or praising the remake for removing the problematic elements of the past. Despite how awful the remake looks, most of the Capcom fanbase and a good portion of Dead Rising community is still going to be satisfied with nothing more than member berries and shiny new graphics. Remember, the Dead Rising community has Stipo360 as it's gleaming gem, and Capcom community quite literally has drag queens and former porn stars as the pillars of their community. This is their new audience, not you.

yeah back in the day on the 360 I had a shitload more success using the point feature, running alongside them, and frequently tweaking the exact point direction

The cynic in me says it's got less to do with wanting to improve old experiences and more to do with sanitizing the backlog of classics for the modern audience. Rewriting history so that you can prove just how virtuous your company truly is.

Pointing was always the best way to get them to move from point A to B, that and just mowing down any zombies in the way. The survivors are really not that hard to deal with if you know what you're doing. Dead Rising was all about trial and error and is one of very few games meant to be replayed many times. Losing a few survivors is no big deal really.

It's much simpler than that: They ran out of talent, and they ran out of ideas so they're grave digging and shitting all over their previous successes. ESG compliance has nothing to do with this, they would have been doing the same thing without it.

This is true but the two issues are intertwined for a litany of reasons I won't shit up the thread with. The new workers in the industry do not have the talent or creativity to come up with new ideas or IPs so they keep grave robbing the past and stamping shit onto old games instead of making something new.

ESG compliance comes in to add on to an already shitty practice by having them cram a bunch or retarded shit in or by censoring content that was already there.

Physical copies exist for the 360 and the game is compatible with Xbox One. Moreover, you can easily pirate the PC remaster as well.
RE4 from 2005 is still around, so I doubt they will do that. It will just be even more negative PR if they try.

There is one good thing, they changed the step outside the safe room to a ramp. In the original survivors could get locked into a jumping animation if you had more than one with you which would waste time.

Otherwise it's trash.

Try again(if you have a savegame made). After a few times, you will figure it out and determine if you want to keep grinding and get a B ending or aim for A/S ending but skip the clown entirely. The rewards are the best weapon in a game and a shortcut that can end up saving you a ton of time(borderline only way to save some survivors), but it's not needed to finish the game.
Adam is the toughest psycho in the game btw, he can easily take your entire healthbar if you let him. That's only true for new players, experienced players know how to cheese him easily since there is a few ways to exploit his bad pathfinding or leave him stuck on the ground nearly permanently.
