The BHVR SCAM me out of 2500 gold cells (self.deadbydaylight)​

On the day of the release of Junji Ito collection, I logged into the game from Epic Games platform, and saw new skins in the store, I immediately replenished the balance of gold cells for 6000, bought a skin on the Artist, and on Kate Denson, and after buying a skin on Kate Denson, the game gave me a purchase error, and informed me that if I was taken off the cells for the purchase, to contact support. And as soon as I closed this error from the store suddenly disappeared a new banner with the collection, the cells I have disappeared, skins I have disappeared, but the funniest thing is that in the main menu the game gave me a banner for the purchased skins from this collection. I of course went to support, I explained to them the situation, that for some reason I lost both purchased skins, lost gold cells, but the banner remained, I asked them to either give me the purchased skins, or return the gold cells that disappeared because of this error in oblivion, to what I got the answer that it turns out the collection is unavailable in my region, and they can not make a refund. I was surprised in general that the collection of skins may not be available in the region, and the game did not notify me in any way about it. Literally if I have skins in the store, how do I know they are not available in my region. I was not notified in the game that the collection is not available in my region or has any restrictions at all, and I am clearly not responsible for such bugs in the game, and even more so I am not going to pay for these bugs, which I am not guilty of. I ask you to make this situation public, as I am almost certain that I am not the only one who has encountered this problem, and someone else has also lost money on this error. I attach a screenshot from the store, where you can see that there is no collection of skins, but at the same time I have a banner with the collection, I do not understand why BHVR decided that they can scam me out of money, and I will not do anything about it. And after all nothing prevented them to return me these 1500~ cells, and I would have forgotten about this situation, but they decided to deceive me, and spoil their reputation with such a problem at least in my eyes. I now lost basically any desire to buy anything in this game, because now I can never be sure that I once again will not be scamed out of money.

BTW Update after I sent another ticket: Im asking them to explain where the gold cells went that they won't give me back. In response I received information that the purchased skin is in my inventory, but I can't use it. Until they fix the problem with regional restrictions, lol

TLDR:
  • New Junji Ito skins are released, but are banned in certain countries such as Russia.
  • Despite this, BHVR didn't properly roll out the region lock so a Russian player had the skins available in his store. He buys two, spending the equivalent of $25.
  • Player gets an error after purchasing, and the skins as well as the currency all disappear from his account.
  • He reaches out to BHVR support and gets told they "have no way to refund" him.
  • People in the comments claim to have similar issues with the event, as well as other scamming shenanigans by BHVR. (Archive)
OP later posts an update. Following a second support ticket, he was told the skins were technically in his account, he was simply unable to view them because of the region lock, hence why he will not be refunded. BHVR claims this is an issue that will be fixed "in the future." If it's region locked because of Russian laws, how the fuck do they intend to fix it?

My best guess is they'll allow these users to exchange the skins for other in game shit, but instead of manually handling it on a case by case basis, they're probably going to implement some shit that handles it through the client to make it less of a pain in the ass.
 
This is why you should avoid in game premium monopoly money. If he had paid through steam using rubles he would have got him money back no problem. You can’t buy skins directly, so don’t.

I have come to the conclusion that the Chinese will save gaming.
 
This region lock was imposed on BHVR by the japanese company that owns all of Junji Ito's stuff. They dont like their content being sold in countries currently at war. So in total, Ukraine, Russia and... China? Seems like its also their fault as well, of course BHVR rushed to sell the cosmetics without any kind of prevention for people unable to buy, but the japs are fucking dicks if they refuse to sell to people who just happen to be born in a country at war.

What do they think is going to happen?

"I can't use my new spooky Dredge skin that I payed for, time to go assassinate Putin I guess."

We saw the same shit when the Russoukraine war started. Stop punishing the people for government actions. And its the japs out of all people.

Never gonna' happen. They fucked over players who grinded to get Legacy skins. They're not going to refund anyone until a class action suit happens.

I believe DBD / BHVR uses the EULA Agreement which has some rules of what they can & cannot add in their agreement. I don't know too much about the EULA though.
 
So... I know this is probably a stupid question to ask, but is it worth jumping into this game at this point? I was interested in the game back when it first came out, but I never did get into it then. What about now?
 
I barely played DbD it's not my jam and the community seemed retarded. My biggest experience is watching some vids years ago and then getting recommend "THE DEVS ARE IDIOT" videos. I clicked on a 35 minute video, which was 30 minutes of absolutely shitting on the game, dev, community, balance, and basically everything. Then the last 5 minutes were total glazing of the game and how he'll never stop playing. I get being hooked on games and shit, but like at a point you just got to uninstall.

I can have a lot of fun playing with friends, and sometimes randoms are fun, but really it's Russian roulette.

Anyway, anyone got some fun Nemesis builds?
