I think they tried that with a coin specifically designed so that it could be mined on lower end devices, like monero or something. Bitcoin needs really beefy hardware now and it's difficult to break up the work small enough to distribute among low power systems in a way that's effective, and even monero can't be easily mined on IoT things that are capable of working in DDOS attacks

I'm slowly throwing together some templates that you can use for printable stickers like Avery labels. just something with a catchy slogan and a qr code. Just something you can make quickly and quietly stick on places around town, ideally using paper labels that biodegrade over time
Obviously they look like shit now though as I don't spend a lot of time near proper computers so it might take a few days to get a basic template and workshop slogans
