It's not something I'm willing to collect evidence for so this will be the last I comment on it but I really suggest at the very least re-thinking this stance, because personally anyone I've talked to about kiwifarms never mention being responsible for deaths or suicides or whatever, I forgot that was even an allegation, it's literally always just been a problem with doxing. I think you (used generally) just may be too involved to fully appreciate the perspective of people outside looking in.

I disagree. Until we convince normies to like kiwifarms this problem will never go away. No matter how many technical solutions you come up with they will just invent new technical problems. Kiwifarms follows all the rules, doens't break any laws, should be protected by the 1st ammendment, and the things our opponents do to shut us down *actually are* obviously illegal. No amount of rule following or technical wizardry is going to solve this in the long term. In any case, to whatever extent messaging is useful, the solution is very simple. Our speech policy is the same as that of Reddit, Youtube, Facebook, and every other mainstream social media site prior to 2016. I said some years back that Elon should've just restored Twitter's 2015 moderation standards, said explicitly that that was what he was doing, and dared the media to try to claim that bringing back the Twitter of the Arab Spring and the Obama Election is some kind of far right conspiracy.

I'm certainly not against technical solutions and they are important, I just think they won't be sufficient to solve the problem on their own. I don't think convincing soccer moms is going to be as difficult as you think if you start showing them some of the pedos kf goes after. Those soccer moms will be the first ones tying the noose for the pedos.

I think this is a great pitch. That would have been a much better approach for Elon, I agree. It would work well for the farms. It's also a great way to shine a spotlight on how much all those groups have changed in recent years. It sounds like we more or less agree that the solution is going to be doing what technical solutions we can while also trying to defend kf's reputation a bit?

While I see where you’re coming from, look at it this way: If someone gets called out for something that isn’t true and they remain silent, there’s nothing that is said that can be taken out of context. If they defend themselves, it automatically gets spun as “well they’re making a big deal about it, so they must be lying.” This is just how the “court of public opinion” tends to work.

Sometimes, not saying anything when people spew lies and bullshit about ya is the best way to handle it. Let people come and see for themselves, ya know? Public Relations is a shitshow no matter how ya slice it.
