We've been in the midst of a long crash since the latter days of the PS3, or the mid ps4 at latest. If you want to deny that, then the crash of 83 didn't happen either.
Nintendo won't save us. I know Nintendroids want 8 bit platformers to be mainstream again, but Nintendo was an outsider, a toy company, when they "saved the industry". And that's assuming of course we ignore the home computer boom that happened in Europe and Japan, which we shouldn't.
And then there's the unstated major premise. That this will be the state of affairs forever. It won't. Gaming has been in constant flux since Pong, but now that suddenly stop? Not buying it.
I'll put the snark away and ask a serious question. What would it take for you to consider the industry "saved" or "better"?
