Seems some real shit is going down on Twitch. Dr. Disrespect, who had just signed an exclusive deal with Twitch earlier this year, was allegedly permabanned. This is a big deal - one of the biggest streamers on the platform and considered by many to be the "Face of Twitch." The two main rumors going around are a rogue DMCA takedown or #MeToo. Another theory is related to him claiming that all the money donated to him this month would go towards charity, so some kind of fraud, etc. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it's the #1 topic being discussed by anyone live on the platform at the moment.

I'm guessing it's another #MeToo thing, especially with his history. I'm curious how much info will be released about the reason why.

Is this Twith cleaning house? Or what is going on? And why now? Do they think now is the right time to kick "problematic" streamer from the platform? Then how long until the thots are next? Or do they have pussy privilege? Or more like they have the admins by their nut sacks (probably quite literally)

Just to be clear this is based on nothing but the content linked so far and a couple of YouTube videos.

My guess
  • Clout and money is running out
  • It's slow news season
Last year Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn tried to start gaming #metoo, but it came to a grinding halt when Alec Holowka killed himself. The grift was dead in the water. Anita went ahead with it for a little while, likely because plans were already made. After Covid, Deer Girl, a bad E3, and The Last of Us 2, the timing was right for these false accusations to get maximum traction in the press who have fuck all to write about except shitting on Cyberpunk some more.

Upper Echelon Gaming's video on the subject debunks the idea there's nothing to gain. The video is 15 minutes of padding with 2 minutes of making an actual point, but the import part is that some, if not most of the accusers so far have careers that are either dead or stagnant, and have gained a boost as a result of the accusations.

I want to say that Trump 2020 might be a reason as well, but I can't articulate why. It's just a feeling I have. Biden is un-electable, perhaps more so than Hillary, and the media is going all in to tear down Trump any way they can. I know lefties were furious that Steam didn't post a pro-BLM message, and are angry that The Last of Us 2 is getting shit on by everybody. They feel related but I don't know how.

A good example of this devolution is the "Handle With Care" developer, a gay guy, the "Handle With Care" games were a couple of really arty, experimental Source engine games that were pretty interesting, what's his latest game from more recent years? A game where men blow each other in public restrooms but the penises are replaced by guns as a real deep statement on video games' fascination with firearms, so deep.
Robert Yang is actually a university professor, and it's his "research" to make Gay Games about Gay Men being Gay. He keeps doing it because he's funded to do it!

I was pretty amused to see the message of the "insane person orgasms driving a car" game "Stick Shift" was supposed to be about police hating gay people, but the obvious response "of course they pulled the guy over, he's speeding dangerously fast in a residential area!" didn't seem to be considered.

Oh, Robert Yang is his name? Did he ever explain why he never finished Handle With Care Episode 3?

Also, I can't remember but did Handle With Care episode 2 involve a gay couple? It says it all that I can't even remember because it wasn't the entire point of the game, how times have changed.

Honestly I only ever heard about them from when I had Rock Paper Shotgun in my feed reader, and that's long-gone. They were all freebies, so maybe he just got other priorities?

It's been a very long time, but I believe one of the later Radiator series was about gay guys, and enough people asked about the earlier stuff involving relationships (the stargazing one in particular) that he retroactively declared that one a gay relationship too. I can't remember whether the couple's counselling one was specifically a gay couple, or even what the couple looked like in that one.

What a coincidence that days after Twitch's biggest competitor Mixer dies Twitch starts purging problematic individuals from their own platform. Really activates your almonds.

Not entirely sure where to toss this but the skull girls guy is getting called out by this big titty thot for hitting on her in the most retarded manner possible.

In any case, it's pretty funny.

Thot literally egged on the responses. Mike Z is damn near socially retarded and has probably never had an actual woman with a nice rack send him anything remotely sexual in DMs. Hoes are a trip.

You know what because visual novels are so fucking routinely cheap I now have a full set of all the uncensored versions of the games on the switch(i'm up to 60+ games on the system in total).

And you know what, none of them are good. Hence why VNs are not expensive at all in America.

It makes me wonder, if OG Mortal Kombat was complete garbage and unpopular, would we even have the ESRB? I mean think about it, all major censorship campaigns were against popular games. if you censor unpopular ones nobody even buys the uncensored versions in the first place. It's quite an interesting paradox.

And I mean by cheap the rare exception was some ran 30 bucks new. But we're talking about special editions that came with art books going for like 10-15 bucks.

Night trap is shit and yet it was also in the middle of the controversy as well

True, but mainly because Night Trap came out around the same time as Mortal Kombat, Lethal Enforcers, and Wolfenstein 3D. Also, Dana Plato was in the game and she had become infamous for doing porn and robbing convenience stores around that time as well.

The "Class of '92" that more or less kicked off the major video game controversies as we know it today all came out close to the same time, and the only one that's still well-remembered is MK and to a lesser extent, Wolfenstein 3D

Lethal Enforcers is a decent light gun shooter but with the decline of arcades outside of Japan, it's at best seen as a nostalgic cult classic while Wolfenstein 3D is now more remembered for being the first true FPS and the direct forerunner to the far more important and influential Doom. Night Trap is remembered for being controversial and not much else.

If it didn't come out the same year as Mortal Kombat, Wolfenstein 3D, and Lethal Enforcers, nobody would have given a shit

It only really got dragged in there because they were looking to bolster the ranks of evil video games. It's like the League of Super Villains and they have to bring Captain Cold along because 50 is an even round number and not 49. It's like nobody is all that concerned about him unlike an A-Lister like Grundy or Luthor would.

I have multiple versions of night trap, the only thing it is good for is to show us how high up people wore mom jeans in ancient times.

The game originally released on the Sega CD which was a console addon that next to nobody really had. To put it in perspective it would be like bitching about Neo geo or PC Engine. Those were fairly uncommon and were not considered part of the mainstream console market (the PC Engine saw more sales than the Sega CD). The government was really grasping at straws because they thought they could have another money pit to draw from.

Microsoft will ban Forza players who add the confederate flag to their digital cars
Players who use other “notorious iconography,” including swastikas will also be banned
https://www.theverge.com/2020/6/30/21308677/microsoft-forza-player-ban-confederate-flag-hate-symbols

In a statement posted on Twitter last Friday, Microsoft updated its enforcement guidelines to have a zero-tolerance policy for any player using the confederate flag or other symbols that represent “notorious iconography,” including Nazi imagery and the rising sun, which can be a symbol of Japanese imperialism. Microsoft will not automatically ban players that create designs with these controversial images; instead, the original designer will need to be reported by submitting a ticket.

$1000 says this includes anything MAGA related but BLM or Antifa related symbols will be okay.

Fuck you Captain Cold is better than most of the proper Doom Members. I would take him in a fight over Lex because Lex has the Ego of planet and would fuck up the entire plan if he got to piss in Superman's Cereal.
Captain Cold is the Sportsman of Elemental Themed Bad Guys.

Mr. Freeze at least had a far more solid reason for the way he is.
