Without looking at a gameplay video, what would you even do in a Dragon Maid game? I don't see it being an action rpg, shooter, platformer or any other gameplay genre. Is it one of those "pick a path" visual novels? That just doesn't seem appealing to me.

Even if I were to give Sony the benefit of the doubt and assume that it is just a case of the aspect ratio of the box art (since that has been the case before), is it really too out of the question to think that Sony were censoring considering their previous track record? There's not one single weeb consensus, the weeb audience is actually pretty divided and split. Even more so when you consider that anime is mainstream now and the audiance for anime is more diverse in background as well as mentality. You're looking at weebs as a monolithic entity as if it's still the 1990's. Hell most actual anime has a ton of chinese and korean input for the bulk of animation work and that's even before you consider the american buyouts of publishers and other foreign entities. More stuff has been outsourced now than ever.

I argue it's more about remotely controlling and allowing what kind of game, or any kind of entertainment media for that matter, the japanese creators make regardless westerners were importing them.

Weebs are importing because they're able to get the uncensored games that are out of Soyny's reach.

That's why I went for the Switch because I can import my japanese games without SIE California being involved much. Playstation in Japan remains unchanged, they're still buying 8% of the hardware which they've been doing since 2013. Sony is still heavily advertising in japan the same as it always was. And Team Asobi is just Japan Studio but more trimmed down so they don't have the company mismanagement issues that plagued the original, they still have all the rights to the IPs of Japan studio as well.

They just had a big segment on Harada's Bar that stated the problem with the japan game market is that it's set into stagnation and there's no new blood. That's how china was able to grab 33% of the market where as years before they were at 0%. The west is what's been keeping the traditional japanese games going. Despite people probably telling you that Kirby has done better than Elden Ring.

And why the hell would you need to see Kuro no Kiseki? You can play all 4 Cold Steel titles right now, the same team is handling the two current Kuro games.

We already went through this before but I guess you're still ignoring the warning signs because of your fanboyism.

Your hyperfocus on japan blinded you from seeing that most JRPGS have been more or less had the west as a primary audience for well over a few decades at this point, it's why every main series has been well received in larger numbers outside a few outliers like Dragon Quest since the newest game isn't out yet. Fromsoft's Elden ring is now just part of a larger trend where Japanese games sell way more outside of Japan. But you're still pushing a mentality that hasn't existed with many Japanese devs for quite a long while since America is a much larger market and has adapted a nuanced taste for games like that. Fuck Sega is probably exhibit A for this right down for allowing westerners to make a sonic game that turned out better than Sonic Team's own offerings and Atlus reaching massive popularity overseas.

Just because vidya news websites in the western world have long stopped reporting Sony's censorship of japanese games doesn't nullify what previously transpired, or like you claimed in your previous post, "never happened". The japanese game rating board CERO can be cancerous at times but that will never justify Sony to be extra cancerous and therefore decide on a whim (with no clear indication to devs) what's acceptable for american sensibilities even for games that never left Japan, or weren't released worldwide day one.
