So is that the manga Seven Seas had to redo? Nepotism at its strongest if this faggot got a job after that clusterfuck.

I'm not sure it matters that much since Atlus already fucked with Royal by removing predatory gays and instead making them force a teenager to cross dress -- which is arguably worse.
It is another manga that Seven Seas may have to redo as well
Seven Seas.png

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu is the other manga localized and published by Seven Seas (the one you might think of) in which the "translation" decided to omit words deemed offensive (性奴隷 (seidorei) -> sex slave) and put internet slang instead of normal words (screw-up -> cringe ; bizarre fashion theory -> mansplained fashion)

Maybe nothing will happen for the new Persona ports but I wouldn't give any trust to those people who clearly have nothing but disrespect for the japanese creative medium

Dude it's about a guy making his friend wear make up and wear girl clothes. Getting a troon to do a translations and all it seems they did was change he to her. It's a story that's literally right up their alley. It probably even features shit that troons have done themselves.

You're getting just as worked up as actual fujos because the entire part of forced cross dressing that they like is male humiliation. The male humiliation aspect requires having established gender norms which troons ignore. The entire reason why the guy dresses up as a girl in the first place is so he can have gay sex.

Like I said before this is the dumbest form of cronyism, but the entire localizing industry is gated now with these faggots. They got their entry, they block anyone that wants to actually do a decent job. All you can do is fail upwards.

That said, I don't think they're gonna redub shit. I don't know why they need a coordinator at all, but fuck if I know. Maybe this retard needed a job and they had a friend pull some strings to give them what amounts to coffee work. Like Lipshitz being some executive intern on New Vegas.

Since they're coming out in october that only gives them around 4 months, so that's not enough time for any serious changes. Persona 4,5, and P3 is a huge script and any changes would need to be proofread in the larger context.

In comparison it would be like you're rewriting the harry potter books 3 times over and you have 12 weeks to do it. There's just simply not enough time.

Again don't change shit on the idea it fits your own personal narrative and not the author's

Yaoi isn't my cup of tea at all but I'm not a low-IQ dumbass (with no standards) like you to think injecting real-life and current-year politics into a (foreign) fictional work is remotely okay just because it affects something I don't specifically like. It's not like those localizers will suddenly stop at this kind of creative work either.

@SiccDicc
Always take @Marissa Moira comment as grain of salt, or just don't believe it at all.
I've covered a bit of the translation drama in Anime/Manga thread with follow up that made Seven Seas "hearing feedback".
TL;DR:
Seven Seas translation deliberately localize/translate the trap character, Hiura, as trans -> using all female pronouns in their translation. Which caught attention of the original scanlation group, where the scanlation group points out the mistakes and nuanced of original text. There is also have an interview with manga author (Banjo) and editor (Suzuki), where it clearly states the character Hiura is male and the manga (Ototusku, short Japanese name) is written with Boys Love theme in it.

As manga with Otonoko (trap) genre and BL in it, so it manages to have 50-50 male-female audience.

This whole drama gains enough fuss that even author asks people to contact JP publisher about translation.

Then you have a tranny seething about people "chuds" complaining and this Meru person in every localization drama ever.

But wait, there also leaning left people on twitter agree with translation criticism. An EN translator for Nikkei and a FtM Japanese literacy translator.

Second, how @MarissaMoira change the goal posts, first about "changing sex" then "forcing to cross-dress to have sex". Neither of which is in the manga.
Here is the first chapter, 5 pages.
TL;DR:
Midou, a guy with 3 older sisters taken an interest in make up, but embarrassing to talk about with other people. He decides to ask his childhood friend, Hiura (trap) - a gaming nerd, to let him try practicing make up on. Of course, Hiura asks Midou to treat him after he done with practicing make up.
Only later, Midou finds Hiura is pretty with make up, and Hiura likes to tease Midou back. No forcing or anything.
Later chapters are just back and forward, Midou finds Hiura cute while Hiura is flustered with complement being cute.

There is no sex in manga, only bunch of "excuses" for author drawing the trap in female clothes/fashion.
Edit: correct character name

Dude even from the original intent of the author it would still definitely fall into the category of what's considered woke.

I mean take a look at some of the scenes in there, it's no different from the real life highschool drag queen shit. Femboys have long been deemed gay and this is exactly what the comic is.

The dude goes from experimenting to just wearing girls clothes all the time and the two of them looking longingly at each other. This is something that no matter how accurately the translation would come out would still fall under the kill it with fire.

Nice cherry picking, out of context and moving goalpost right there.

First, I give out some references how wrong and dumb 7Seas translators are and how wrong you are about the manga. But hey, "it's doesn't matter how correct the translation is, this should go straight into dumpster". Whether, you like or dislike this manga, it isn't the point of this whole stupid translation drama.

Funny how it is, for something you consider to be garbage, yet you have mental illness or pathetic localiser being so adamant about their "muh representation" and "hard work" . Like how talking with mental illness about intepretation rather than directly the author or JP publisher themselves. Please keep going on defending localisers trash.

But, let put its this way, this manga is meant to be a fluffy romance typical highschool setting with BL and trap genre. Anyone who like those genres, they will read this manga, they don't want retards political ideology fcking up their hobby.

Second, the context for that picture and let me remind the plot of this story again.
The trap is gay for his friend and wants to be pretty for his friend.
Chapter 15 page 15, another student wanna date Hiura, but Hiura rejects the confession because he loves Midou. Wow, totally not so typical "heroine" portrayal in any highschool manga ever.
c15p15.png

Coming up with that page you link from Chapter 24, next couple pages.
c24p7.png c24p8.png
It's pretty much afraid of losing Midou interests in him. Not because whatever yada yada yada trans, because Miura knows he has male body, basic homo relationship, you need to have the other interests/ is okay with your sex first.
Oh boy, be surprised it's Midou picking out a proper outfit for Hiura in the next chapter.
C16p5.png C15p6.png

Please do keep moving your goal posts again, again, again, and again, just because you can't accept how dumb and misinform you are every time. Imagine being this terminally online, and can't do some googlefu. Nevermind, you don't have actual reading skill or any reading comprehension, depsite coming from burgerland.

Look man if you like fujo stuff that's fine, but they've always been segregated from the general population as a whole for a reason for decades.

There's no turning back once you go all in, just be aware of that. Even the middest of mids get second thoughts and decide to instead watch Spy Family.

To avoid keeping this going on much further, it's literally as simple as them changing the character's pronouns into the opposite of what they actually are despite what the author originally put in, if you want to keep on going with these irrelevant tangents take it to another thread.

The main point is one of the people involved with this has free reign to change any terminology that may not be PC, so best to see what is changed when the port gets released.

Actually they're just changing button layouts/icons and nothing to do with the script. It's literally not their department despite previously working on translating a manga.

This article gives you a look at the pipeline on the ever increasing numbers of world wide releases since the majority of many games audiences are outside of Japan at this point.

Take for example the recent Rune Factory they had to add script changes because they added the gay options for characters. Between the script changes and programming that took around 1 year because they heavily altered the base game. If the Persona ports were to have severe changes it would take a similar amount of time, but the time frame is too short for anything like that to happen. Some mechanics do need to change since the xbox controller lacks gyro but that's mostly it.

There's also Trails of Azure and Trails of Zero. Those had a pretty long tiemframe for their western releases even though the fan translation team was hired who had compelted both games previously when it came to the translation. They had to redo the script for both games and that took again way more than 6 months. Persona is jsut about as script heavy as any Kiseki game.

Repeating the same shitty takes from the Sony Hate thread won't make your personal fanfiction true, especially when other people already called out of your bullshit
Well you didn't read the article then.

All the stuff I've been saying is in that article and they interview people from Sega/Atlus and not only that but from marvelous/Xseed.

These are industry professionals telling you like it is. Now I know I joke around with you with stuff like that and we've had our back and fourths. But it is by all means factually true what they're saying and that's how their work pipeline is set up. Like that's nothing I've been stretching the truth over.

Especially since there's just a massive influx from Warner Brothers Discovery, Netflix, and other american companies to fund anime in general. This also isn't the first time this happened.

I know you have this hate boner for localizers, but you've just been repeating stuff that mirrors the dub vs sub debate that existed since VHS was a viable media format. This shit literally has not changed in 30+ years. Weebs in general are an argumentative bunch and by just being around them you develop a thick skin. So it like you can look through everything through the lens of the culture wars or just take a step back and see the larger picture that the more things supposedly change the more they stay the same. You are free to think whatever you'd like.

If it isn't already obvious most people are merely concerned at the prospect of someone changing something in the game separate from the button prompts, she mentioned terminology which is the concerning part.

Of course they haven't changed anything yet, expressing concern isn't the same as outright dismissing it.

FYI, an IGN article that links to RetardEra for it's citations isn't really proof of anything.

Those were just steam numbers.

Everything else they have in the article is legitimate in how they operate and what demographics they're targeting.

The article was written before stuff like Elden Ring sold over 12 million copies in the west. So it's pretty much panning out as intended. Many series are breaking records by doing this. Even the newest Rune factory game beat out every other installment once the western version released.

Anime is mainstream in the west to a large extent, fuck you can log on to social media and people are openly sharing spy family shit.

Prove it. Prove what you say. Provide real numbers.

Oh, you can't. Shut the fuck up. Fuck off. Are you a troon? Is that why you're using a woman's name?
Can you please 41% yourself?
Like what you want NPD numbers?

or Elden Ring's sales numbers

No, I'm still waiting for the proof that Western audiences have been the ones making JRPGs successful since the 90s.
Where is it, you cross dressing freak?

You're full of shit. Please 41% yourself.
C'mon dude Final Fantasy 7 was huge in the west that kicked off the whole change. Selling that many copies world wide it opened the fucking floodgates to the genre.

Even today Crunchyroll is funding a TV series to Kiseki so that Falcom can make inroads to western nations that's due out in 2023, They even highlighted crunchyroll cross promotions in sony's business slides. The JRPGS success in western nations is directly attributed to Final Fantasy 7 just flat out existing.

Not only that smaller JRPGs of the PS1 era like Legend of Dragoon did not do well over in Japan, but made up the difference in the US. This has been a very long standing thing. Original Demon's Souls did not do hot in Japan, but was very popular in America. So yes it's been since the 90's that these things have been happening on a routine basis.

And I just checked to make double plus sure that Pokemon is still generating most of it's income from outside Japan. I think the US still outspends Japan in Pokemon Go. It's why you will never escape Kanto.
