Most people think all this pozzed stuff is bullshit

This is an excellent segway into one of, in my opinion, the largest issues with the culture war.

What do you define as "pozzed"? It seems to be different for each person, we all seem to be arguing about a spectrum of different things on the same topic.

I have a question, anyone can answer it and it's mostly a thought experiment but I think it gets to the root of the issue pretty well.

Is Elden Ring "pozzed"?

It does that bodytype "gender is a social construct" thing all the libs jerk off to, you can be your ideal troon with more options to do so than ever even conceived by normal men and women, however, you can argue the game is well made, some would say "based" even as it upset some obvious leftist in the games industry for various reasons, but none of that changes the fact that they bent the knee early on, in order for you to play the game you need to jump through their mental hoops to do so.

So is the game pozzed or is it based? Is it some middle ground? Is that line of thinking irrelevant? and if so what is the "culture war" other than nerds complaining about nothing?

This, exactly. Games have moved rapidly away from normalcy. Indies didn't fix this issue, yet everyone cites indies as the savior. People have forgotten that AA games even existed. We didn't have to dodge Christian fundie games, I never even knew about a good portion of them until the mid-00s internet was digging them up to laugh. Telling me that's the same as LGBT games, or simply pozzed games in general, is disingenuous. I'm not even blackpilled, yet it's the leap that people make every time it comes up about video games. Pretend there's no issue all you want, pretend there's based af ultra super redpilled game devs out there fighting the good fight, they're not.

Jack Thompson says video games being violent is a problem because it will lead to real world violence. Consumers, critics and creators laugh him off because he's a christian conservative. He mostly fades into obscurity, I had to Google "the guy who tried to ban gta" because I had forgotten his name.

Anita Sarkeesian says video games beign sexist is a problem because it will lead to real world sexism. Consumer reaction ranges mostly from "lol" to "wtf" but because she's a woman and a feminist, critics and creators start kow-towing en masse. While Anita herself has mostly faded, what she unleashed is still plaguing the games industry.

I think that there is a difference between things you can roll your eyes at and things you can't. You can roll your eyes at the a/b body type and it doesn't affect anything else in the game. On the other hand, there are things like every supporting character in modern games being a gay minority woman which is very dumb, and you can't just roll your eyes at an entire games story.

I think that the censorship of people who don't want to describe Rachel Levine as a woman, or John Gibson basically getting kicked out of Tripwire for a normal stance on abortion are big problems. I think the only way people will fight back against that is by talking without sperging out. Most people really do think this kind of stuff is fucky, there's a reason why news outlets hid Celine Provost's face after the Alana McLaughlin fight. normal people don't see McLaughlin as a woman, but won't say it out loud. The majority of people in America don't support abortion after around 10 weeks, but because these conversations get hijacked by people who just hate gays, or are totally against abortion in all it's forms most people stay quiet so they don't get put in the same box as them.

The culture war does matter, because talking matters, and most of what people talk about is going to revolve around shared experiences which, for better or worse, are going to touch on pop culture in one way or another. Nobody wants to be the bigot railing against pride flags in games, but plenty of people think it's funny to watch devs squirm indignantly when asked for straight pride flags in games.

I've heard Gavin Mcinnes and a couple other conservatives who still think videogames cause violence. If gaming and media was dominated by the right, you'd probably see much more of an impact from Jack Thompson, but because gaming is so left wing you see residue from Anita instead. The gaming press already disagreed with Jack before he opened his mouth, and already agreed with Anita before she opened hers.

Thompson was picking fights with people and lost hard on every front until he was disbarred because of the way he acted.

Anita on the other hand does not allow discourse, everything is carefully curated and peanut gallery commentary was deleted, discussions locked and comments removed. This meant her message was never distorted on her very backyard while part of the fun with Thompson was ridiculing him and he forgot to turn off the block button

No, if I remember right he got disbarred for showing gay porn to a judge in a trial to dispute opposing counsel's character. Because they were gay, they advertised they were gay on their site, they had gay porn advertised on their website -- which is actually not okay, but seemed more a problem with how adsense worked at the time and not a willful choice of opposing counsel. It wasn't about video games or his antics in public at all.

Also Thompson believed in free speech despite his antics and even stepped against various bills proposed by Hillary Clinton and such for going too far. He wasn't as bad as people made him out to be, he got played by the media much like how the media runs defense for Anita or Zoe Quinn -- or even Amber Heard. He was a doof and stupid, but honestly I don't think he is - or was - as malicious as the others. He at least engaged opponents.

If we're going to credit cracker Jack with something is that he at least tried to change things to his liking via courts. He was out there talking shit on tv and in media for sure, but compared to the hateful twitter power mongers that runs things these days Jack was the gentler and more principled anal rapist in this hobby of ours.

I never said that, but if you want to believe that, it says more about your position than mine.

To further my point, people never specify which indie games are positively enforcing the market, which have actually been able to avoid the wall of pozzed trash.

Whenever I recommend specific indie games to them, there's always some excuse. "weeb shit" "asset flip" "muh grafx" "Unity engine" "early access" and so on and so forth.

Persona 5 is definitely a different version, the xbox has zero gyro controls which means all the gyro control segments have to be altered for Xbox. That's going to be a good chunk of bonding events because that's how you unlock team abilities through minigames.

Also a manga about turning your best friend into a girl in order to have sex with, the respect bar isn't set all that high to start. You're already reading a manga about what real transexuals have done in real life.

The bikini stuff just seems to be their personal opinion that the real girls on the cover seem to be false advertising when most of the magazine was about manga.

So is that the manga Seven Seas had to redo? Nepotism at its strongest if this faggot got a job after that clusterfuck.

I'm not sure it matters that much since Atlus already fucked with Royal by removing predatory gays and instead making them force a teenager to cross dress -- which is arguably worse.

They didn't change the entire story concept here's the write up

The series follows Kenshirou Midou, who practices applying make-up on his friend Hiura Mihate; following this, Hiura becomes interested in presenting femininely, and the two realize they are attracted to each other. The series, and the character of Hiura in particular, has been well received by critics and readers. It was nominated for the Next Manga Award in 2020 and 2021, and was voted one of the most popular web manga of 2020.
