Either the vast majority of people can't build a PC worth a shit, or a lot of people need to abandon the 4K fad.

This is like the 5th game in the past five years I've played now that is allegedly the worst optimized shit ever that runs perfectly fine on whatever mid tier PC I'm running at the time.

Westerners seems to like the game. I translated few Korean reviews and they mostly have the same complaints as whuites: clunky controls, shitty ui, lack of quest markers etc etc. The funny part that couple of them called themselves idiots for falling for pearl abyss marketing and regret spending money on it.
Chinks probably hate the game on principle so I didn't even bother translating.

you forgort:
owie

although marathon has less players than CD...

Saw someone post faction map saying that if you clear a region other faction will move in. How true is that? Seems interesting.
Not as interesting as you think. Either the original faction simply redpawns or your faction the greypubes or whatever will occupy if you are past a certain point in the main quest.

All this amounts to is a bunch of generic non hostile npcs idling around and occasionally sandboxing. They don't fight or provide services or anything.

Like everything else this mechanic is beyond shallow.

*Former Synthcell and never weebshit.

Japanese anime and game are generally 5/10 but I'm happy to see that my mere presence makes dumb niggers seethe. Guess that low IQ comment hit a little too close to home, huh?
People complain that controls are shit, there's input issues, UI is garbage, crashes, horrible bugs and looks like shit on some settings.
Then you come in, swallow the mouthful of cum you were guzzling on and go "muh IQ" like some retarded faggot.
Did you think you were slick? cool? smart?
Nah, you're just a retarded faggot.

Some of the main points I heard was that the game was wonderfully optimized for PC, and ran like butter, when in reality it runs like shit and outright doesn't even work on some systems
3080 Ti / i9-12900k / 32 Gb ram
I played on an 3440x1440 with all settings High or better and had >60 fps.
I kept fiddling with settings, but it looked like shit, very blocky and low quality and the camera on ultrawide was pure cancer.
I actually had hope, since they kept harping on the optimization angle, but alas, this gook slop didn't pass my sniff test.

It wasn't an issue of running it, but rather that it looked like shit.
See above for details.

110 factions!
It's like WoW factions, where you farm points and spend on some gear.
IM FACTIONMAXXING, SAVE ME KLIFFMAN!!

im happy i can play it on my 3080 and get 60-70 fps with a lot of stuff cranked up. usually I set everything as low as I can to get 144 fps but it feels smooth enough and its a good tradeoff

thats so kino, I love faction war stuff. skyrim had a really lame one they didnt flesh out, and GTA san andreas sort of had one. other than like X3 or X4 I dont know many games that do it.

im still learning controls and keep messing up. A lot to remember.
I took off my vision helmet during a quest and couldnt figure out how to re-activate the memory (tap F2 with it on).

I started speccing into unarmed combat 3 and grapple 2 (F+Right click slam is so fun, and ive gotten a few kills with F+Left click tossing goblins off cliffs)

people having a melty over finding AI art in the game.

very early gen AI as well by the looks of it which only adds to how funny it is, they did not give a fuck.

Wow, it really did upset you, huh? My throwaway comment about how the game SEEMS to be upsetting retards hurt your mongoloid feelings so bad you started grunting and smashing your keyboard like an ape with a bananna shoved up his ass, prowling around the exhibit getting pelted by peanuts, thumping his chest in anger.

All you're doing is proving my initial assumption correct. I say offhand "this game seems to make retards very angry" and a retard waddles in with the vacuum cleaner still stuck to his dick and throws a tantrum. Very funny stuff.
love faction war stuff
It's never dynamic enough in these games. It would be really cool if these sorts of systems were simulated so that factions dynamically interacted with and without you. I think some STALKER mods manage that, but it sounds like this is basically just Ubisoft faction clearing where the friendlies move in once you kill the bad guys.

lack of quest markers
Not sure how a big red X on the minimal counts as a lack of quest markers, but okay.

I’ll tell you my issue. The cooking quests. So I have an early quest “cook 3 Fish Porridge” and I was given the ingredients, I selected “hearty fish porridge but that didn’t count because even though she gave tin the recipe, the recipe has 5 variants and you needed to make the most basic variant, and even more annoying I no longer have enough fish or grain to make the porridge and can’t find anyone to buy grain from and can’t seem to get any fish to bite yet. That right there is bad quest design. Why would they give you stuff you didn’t previously have only for those new things to soft lock the quest?

My biggest issue with the controls at this point is climbing down. The way it is supposed to work is you walk to a ledge then press L3 to begin a descent, but Kliff almost never wants to do it and will instead just sit down.

There was also a moment when I had to sneak through a window. There was a chest under the window and I opened it and stole the money inside. But then I could not close the chest despite it showing the little dot that implies I can interact with it, and because I couldn’t close the chest I couldn’t sneak out through the same window.
Thankfully the suspicion AI is dumb as shit and no one in the heavily guarded house where you get punched for trying to enter seemed to care that I was walking around stealing everything and I walked out the front door past the guards who paid me no interest.

Shallow and pendantic?

Now that some time has passed I want to ask the Kiwis who have been playing the game a question.

One of the major selling points is the size of the world map, but in my experience games that advertise the size of their map end up wide but shallow in terms of content. Lots of space without much depth.

Hearing about AI gen fetch quests and sub-mid dialogue makes sense for filling a massive world, but its the kind of content I can't appreciate. That's why my favorite single player game is Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel. The map is still quite large and its filled with hand crafted content of the highest quality, all for free. The trade off is its taken over 20 years to get to where it is now and they're still far from the end goal of making the entire map of Tamriel playable.

So my question for those who are enjoying the game, do you feel that the size of the map is necessary or did they make a large map only to fill it with mediocrity?

I just saw someone on Facebook say this is a game for "critical thinkers" and now I can't help but think both sides are retarded.

It's like...it's not *that* complex. Unless things just ramp up later on it's like the trickiest part was having to find a door that a key would open in a castle and figuring out which path to take to get to a quest objective because my map isn't filled out yet.

Like, yeah that's hard work for journos and redditards but calm down guys our brains aren't that big for playing the game.
