The graphical downgrade from the released footage is going to be hilarious.
The only downgrade is for console plebs and anyone that's using dogshit AMD hardware or old Nvidia non RTX GPUs

The clear verbage of "no microtransactions AT LAUNCH" is clear they're planning to patch them in
Based on previous earnings call from Pearly Abyss they seem to hint that if this game is commercial success, they would introduce some sort of multiplayer mode. It's a single player open world game, I don't know how they would shove in microtransactions otherwise. Maybe their are people that would buy cosmetics for a single player game? More power to them I guess.

weasling around showing any console footage for base PS5/Xbox days before the game comes out
DFs preview of the PS5pro version of the game showed that Pearly Abyss's console specs and targets for the various modes were accurate, so I have no reason to doubt that they would lie about the base console performance. I mean I guess they could go full kike and lie about the performance specs they themselves released and immediately kill all goodwill they have, but I don't think that will be the case, but until its tested and confirmed it'll remain something to be wary of.

Something feels artificial about the hype around this game.
I don't think the hype is artificial at all based on the ambition the game. The size of the world, the visual quality and reported performance, the depth of the combat and other systems, the real time weather system etc... all these things combined into a next gen package makes sense for their to be hype, but it could end up being an Asian dev rug pull where all of these promises were half truths or lies, so it's right to be wary until proven otherwise. I am just hoping that isn't the case.

Im just looking forward to the aftermath this game will bring whether is good or bad.

-The game ends up being as promise and it sets a new standard that will make ither companies seethe.

-The game ends up being dissapointing, not as promised and the glazers will have to eat that big L.

Regardless, ill be sitting here with my popcorn ready for the hilarity that will surely ensue.

I really want this because I want a good game that has amazing exploration and world design that can gives me a similar feeling of WoW did when I was a kid. But also because I want to see this game used as a cudgel against faggy Bethesda and Ubisoft for their dogshit low effort games.

I don't get why reddit is so hell bent on hating this game.

There's been people who have played the game basically saying it's good, and reddit still shits all over it because apparently the graphics are too good?

IDK, I'd get people having PTSD over these major releases not running right or sucking on release if they all didn't do massive 180's 4-5 years later.

Piracy is small. People hating on denuvo now seems so forced. Resident evil has denuvo.

It's because one tweet or another that pushes piracy mentioned it and got traction so they all gotta grift about it.

And it's not a game catered to jurnos. There are more sheep for jurnos than piracy.

I think it mostly comes down to having Denuvo so they’re seething they can’t pirate it day 1 and also seething that it’ll either run or look like shit on base console and they can’t handle being reminded they’re a poor.
I just had an argument with a guy who was bitching that you need the best graphics card to run it "baseline"

And I had to point out that 4K 120FPS isn't a fucking baseline.

I swear, the console exodus to PC has been the worst fucking thing ever.

A Korean Streamer did a 1.5 hour long steam/review of the game, some highlights (there was no gameplay, just him talking with chat)

  • Character swapping is just like GTA5 including transition effects where the camera zooms out into the world and back in. Characters are going about their day as they are swapped in. One time he swapped into Oongka in the middle of a gigantic battle and had to fight his way out.
  • Finished the game without the Day 1 patch and encountered only minor bugs. Everything that felt “off” in previous gameplay has been fixed (footstep sounds, running animations, weird reactions when getting hit)
  • Played RDR2 for about 600 hours and he suggested CD was similar in tempo.
  • Praised the world design, each piece of content draws you in with a sense of purpose unlike the “Ubisoft style checklist questing”
  • Main story can be brutally hard if you rush it without upgrading Kliff
  • Every region has a different difficulty, becomes harder when you go east and north.
  • Played on 5080 at 1440p cinematic settings without frame drops or stutters
  • Score/soundtrack is legendary
  • Did not find all the game systems to be fatiguing or stressful to deal with
  • Inventory space can be tight at first but was not an issue late game as side quests reward you with more storage
  • Stated it was the “game of his life”, played 10h daily since he got the review code
  • No life’d the game to finish the review but still not seen 50% of the bosses
  • Avoided giving story details cause of the strict embargo but said “there are twists”.
  • Another reviewer when asked how the game was, linked to a EGM 1998 quote about Zelda Ocarina of Time that translates to “Savor it because this is as good as its going to get for a very long time”.

I'm just looking forward to something that isn't Ubisoft style of Open World.

At this point ill call it Fantasy GTA.

Personally im slightly more interested in the management side of things like in BDO. I wanna have a market empire.

pacing was one of the worst aspects about RDR2, no wonder reviewers are putting in 100+ hours into the review.

and even within RDR2 the pacing was made somewhat bearable because of the narrative being compelling enough, any other game that's going to put me through an unskippable 5 minute carriage ride for the sake of exposition dumping me to death better make that shit interesting.

i've been lurking some of the gameplay footages and the game looks like BoTW with an identity crisis, the direction reminded me a lot of Lost Ark (another Korean MMORPG) in that every leveling zone/biome is steeped in juxtaposition and design tropes (Lost Ark starts out as a super generic medieval fantasy setting but then you go through all the greatest hits: the Diablo-esque spooky zone, the steampunk/industrial zone, the dwarf zone that's literally just Ironforge/Orzammar, etc. it's like a game of Civilization where one player is trying to research animal husbandry and deploying spearmen while someone else is making aircraft carriers two tiles over), i'm getting similar vibes from watching people walking in these bucolic countrysides with knights and bannermen to suddenly finding themselves getting mobbed by robots.

Would this also be because of reddit having Chinese bots, and how Chinese nationalists put down Korean and Japanese-made media as being inferior? And is it also because it doesn't appeal to the Western rainbow crowd enough?

I never understood how you can go over 100 hours in a single player game. Unless the gameplay is amazingly varied, you'd get really sick of it by then.

They butchered the console disc release by not release it on two discs, then they put denuvo on the digital pc release in the last minute, fuck these guys.
Anticheat on my single player game? The gooks can fuck off, I will never buy any of their products now. Pearl Abyss is on the short list of shit I don't buy ever now. Them and Capcom.

Resident Evil does not have Denuvo. Resident evil has Moscow-based ENIGMA that they put on your PC when the fucking sanctions were still on. Honestly the worst example you could possibly use. It does not belong on my single player games, saar.

I've had an idea that a lot of it has to do with faggot Sony fans who have some weird hate boner over everything that isn't Naughty Dog or Santa Monica, at least on reddit. So I guess that would tie into the whole rainbow crowd DIE bullshit.

*shrug* sometimes shit just clicks for people.

Funny enough, I feel that way about MMO and multiplayer shooters. I can only play them for so long before I'm sick of everyone or the loop.

Of course, I grew up during a time where there wasn't online and I was lucky to get 2-3 games a year so I had to make them last so maybe that's why.

AMD gave out the free copies last night, so I have it preloaded already

Funny enough they removed ENIGMA from RE Revelations a while ago and Resident Evil 4 Remake just before RE9 came out. The fact that they didn't bother implementing it into RE9 is pretty telling how bad it is.

Also for whatever reason. Dino Crisis on steam has Enigma despite it also being on GOG. Just sheer confusion as to which retard at capcom gave the go ahead for Enigma in the first place.

I don't get the hate for Denuvo, never once has it actually made my games perform badly.

Would I prefer no DRM? absolutely, but that's not gonna happen for most games. But I also acknowledge for this game I paid nothing so I have zero expectations
