Definitely a big push to shit on it over on /v/ as well. Hell, they're even holding up Jason Schrier's predictable "this game sucks" post as proof the game is trash.

Shilling a game for pay, I can understand. I don't get who'd be funding bad coverage in the press for a game, though. I guess someone upthread mentioned the chinks do it sometimes to shit on Korean stuff?

I’m almost convinced there is some sort of conspiracy between game journos and the triple AAA industry devs to shit on eastern dev games because they’re scared that if they become more popular, more funding and investment dollars will flow to them since they’re the ones making cutting edge products that actually sell. Black Myth Wukong got a sort of similar treatment I believe around launch.

Also, you just know if this game was chock full of trannies and shitskins every big name journo outlet would have lined up to wax poetic about how this game was a progressive boundary breaking once in a lifetime experience :story:

The game reminded me of that f2p asian MMO action game.

The whole "play 8 hours to unlock a mediocre game" experience is...interesting. from what I've seen it seem like a game that's going to be a good influence on the development of other games vs a game I play.

Big shock. Game journo scum tries to rush and brute force a game that isn't really designed for that and they seethe with rage about the difficulty.

That explains a lot actually. Jurno games fail, flail and flop and become concords. Gamers don't want games for jurnos. Devs need to stop trying to a high metacritic score and any publisher demanding one need to be called out and gamers need to boycott them into bankruptcy.

Gamers want games for gamers. They want a challenge. Even when you've got adult things to do, you remember the games that raped your faggot ass much more than those that just spanked your gay little ass and you'll replay them.

I'll wait for a sale. Got a bit of a point and click backlog.

Minus 50 points for no LGB representation.

Honestly I was expecting a catastrophic flop but looks like it's landing middle of the road. From what I've seen I'd believe the game lacks a compelling story and suffers from SERIOUS jank (especially puzzles), while still being visually stunning and impressive in scale. I found it interesting that they still haven't shown the base console footage, so that could be an absolute trash fire yet but most console games look like shit anyways imho.

Also, the Elites don't want to lose out on Western video games being one of their propaganda machines, with the recent flop of games like Concord and Highguard, because people voted with their wallets, so they're stepping it up harder to try to crush competition to them. Even Nintendo going hard after Palworld can be seen as both Nintendo and the Elites not wanting Palworld to eat into the Pokémon money train and it as a propaganda machine.

It's also funny people get shit on for playing a game like Highguard for only 1 match, quit playing, and leave a negative review, saying that "you need to experience the game for 10 hours to TRULY UNDERSTAND it." And yet they shit on Crimson Desert for just that.

Technically they have. Just one video on the Playstation Japan youtube channel.

Cant really tell considering youtube compression, but seemingly runs fine.

They've been colluding for years. Including "translators" like Allison Rappist who openly disdained Japanese stories (and didn't even know Japanese). Remember, game journos have to tow the line for AAA companies or they get blacklisted from early review copies. That means they miss out on initial views/clicks. I'm not even sure how big that puddle of viewers/readers is nowadays but it's still important enough for them to tow the line or face repercussions.

Yeah, maybe I'll just order it. This sounds like exactly what I want and now I know that there is a pre load so I might get at least two hours in before my class.

Edit: Apparently they have heard people complain about inventory and already expanded it in a day 1 patch that press copies are now seeing just before launch. They've also added storage chests.

And what am I seeing on reddit?

No way this isn't some paid negative attention or Sony story game faggots or something. The game hasn't even launched and they're complaining shit should have been in a year ago?

I will never forgive Faggot cowboy and his shilling for DD2.

I was going to post that comment as well but the big take away here is if you want to play the game and get the fullest out of it you gotta commit.

The other is that since this is a new IP there is no trust built up compared to something like Elden Ring.

Imagen in Elden Ring dropped without all the precursor Dark Souls games. Reviewers would HATE it. Complain about the Story, the combat, pretty much everything. Now I get it that people may not have the time or want to spend the effort to get past the first hump of "Here are a 100 tools, you gotta learn them all, have fun" but it sounds like this is a real gem if people go all in on it.

>Denuvo
shame

This doesn't mean i'm writing the game off completely

Probably should have had create a character instead of a set protagonist.

These MMO lite sandbox games are always way more fun if you can play as Shrek or whatever.
