I've actually found out about this a few minutes before you've said that. But hyperrealistic graphics aside, it doesn't really feels like it's worth 70 bucks. As good as the combat is, it's not enough to justify buying it at launch. Especially if the general sentiment is that "it'll get good 35 hours in"

For me it only took like 5 hrs to get in a proper groove (again much like Skyrim or Fallout etc.) It’s a single player game so there’s basically no reason to not wait for a sale if you have something else you can play in the interim. I boughted thoughever becuz I wanted to and I’m far from being strapped for cash.

also starfield is being paraded as the best game evur now that a ps5 version is coming, from the very same people that hated the shit out of it.

although CD being a single player mmo has it's own filters and attractors, seeing kultur war faggots failing hard to latch themselves to the game brings joy to my black heart.
still, i wished PA at least kept some sort of coop to it but they are koreans therefore allergic to coop.

Or maybe because they're genuinely fearful of Gook media, because they've seen how the rise of K-Pop has led to the entire World being worse off as a result. And they also popularized Pay-2-Win with MapleStory, and Blue Archive is self-explanatory. Would it also be because those said haters happen to be Chinese or Japanese, with how East Asians have hated each others guts during history and even today?

P2W and koreans are like peanut butter and jelly because of their retarded culture but i don't really see chinks/nips attacking the game, mostly western journoscum trying to downplay the game and failing.
but eastern people and coop aren't really a good mix, like for fuck's sake dragons dongma 2 for as shit as it was it didn't have coop even though it was the most speculated shit to have and even journoscum kind of hoped it would have, it's always gay pvp shit or async pvp with the slants not counting P2W...

one complaint i kind of get is how contextual most of the controls are because of the intended gamepad focus, PA really want them console money then again black desert released for consoles...

Now, since I've been a shithead in this thread, I'll be on topic: has anyone tried out a crack for Crimson Desert? There isn't a chance in hell aid pay for it but I'm willing to try it if the action gameplay is actually good and cutscenes and skippable and the open world doesn't waste too much of the player's time.

So is the game good or is it not? To me, when I saw the trailers and people glazing the thing like it was the next coming of Hot New Thing like Baldur's Gate 3 or Clair Obscur Expedition 33, I wasn't really sold on the game. It looked like a weird frankenstein monster of whatever is popular in gaming trends right now; open world ubisoft style objectives, soulslike combat, breath of the wild mechanics, rpg mechanics, witcher style narrative, etc.

It's not an RPG at all, it's not similar to any of the games you listed.

If I had to directly compare it to any games it would be the recent Assassin's Creed games like Odyssey, Valhalla, and Shadows.

Did you enjoy clearing endlessly respawning AI generated bandit camps in those games? If so you'll probably really like this.
 
Gave up and tried HV cracked game with the latest patch. It has a very "single player MMORPG" kind of feel, last game like that I played was Kingdoms of Amalur, but that one at least had an interesting plot. 66.1GB of transfer wasted, but at least I saved myself however many hours of chores.

I actually got a Skyrim joke at a gas station.

Asked if they took debit and the cashier went "Khajit has goods if you have coin." I found it mildly amusing at 3AM.
