With every YouTuber, eceleb, journo etc. there’s always an implicit “scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” sentiment. We can try to limit it like we did with Drug Companies and Doctors (wherein the former used to commonly send sexy salesgirls to have sex with the doctors, give all-expenses paid “conferences” in scenic locales, etc.), but it’ll always exist to some degree. I’ll choose to believe that most of these ‘tubers actually just liked the game (as have I) rather than the more nefarious motivators whereas for Marathon there have been clear cases of people being paid to play the game and dropping it immediately after the agreed sponsor time to return to Arc Raiders/holding their tongue regarding the game because they have nothing nice to say which overall is indicative that the Journos are lying out of their ass about loving that shit.

Ran into a bug. In one of the Greymane camp questlines, there's a quest that requires the player craft a dye. I could not get the quest to progress despite repeatedly crafting the dye, receiving the error message "not enough ingredients" or something, not verbatim. After looking up the quest on youtube, it turns out it can be fixed by dropping the ingredients and picking them back up... except that half of the ingredients are insects which book it when dropped. So the way around that was to drop everything one at a time and pick them back up. Presumably it has something to do with the ingredients having some special flag as they're added to the player's inventory and dropping them removes it. Anyway, now my youtube feed is flooded with the most clickbait bullshit I've ever seen

Of course after that the questline asks the player to play the gambling stick card game which is a hot contender for worst minigame in a video game ever.

Well, it's like if Skyrim (mainstream, NPC appeal) and ubishit open world game (hundreds of collectibles) had a gay rectum baby. It has a fuckton of braindead content you can play with for hours, no niggers and trannies, and above average combat. I might give it a shot after it gets a couple of months of patches more. It's already been cracked, so I don't even have to fuck with steam refunds. Gooks don't have to pay off anyone, seeing as it's the only AAA open world RPG on the market without "modern audience" shit.

There’s some random nons but none in the main cast as far as I’m aware and it’s a much smaller proportion than “modern” standards (I’d liken it to the 2000’s era of vidja). Perhaps one day we’ll get another KCD1-esque game (perhaps knight’s path).

I enjoy nonstandard gambling mini games so I’ve put in quite a few hours with the popsicle stick gamba. Not as good as good as the 1-3-5 dice game in KCD. Regarding standard gambling mini games, Luigi poker from the NDS remake of M64 is what always comes to mind, very nostalgic.
