But again though, way more weary of this than DMC5 because at least with DMC5, I can delete the patches and go offline if Capcom ever got greedy with red/blue orb drops (which fortunately seems unlikely since it’s been already 5 months and no more DLC is planned), whereas this game’s pit stop shop is online-only, so Activision has free range to project its greed upon it![]()
Crash Team Racing microtransactions are worse than I thought.
Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled now has microtransactions. The prices are live, and they are horrific. Welcome to modern gaming, Watch the first video about t...www.youtube.com
i kind of agree with this guy. you can easily get 2000 or 5000 conis by just playing the game online and winning every match. 10000 is fucking noting and the amount you have to pay is not Worth it if you already paying for online.
I mean, we have this from 2017 in terms of PS2-era shitA little off-topic, but now that N. Sane Trilogy and the CTR remake have turned out very well, do you think they're gonna make new Crash games or Spyro games? I remember hearing about that being a possibility if the remakes did well.
Of course, what I'm curious about is whether or not they will do remakes of Crash Bash or Wrath of Cortex? They did include a lot of the Crash Nitro Kart characters in the CTR remake, so it's not entirely out of the question.
Those aren't quite part of the "Classic" Naughty Dog era, but they might as well be. Crash Bash was a good concept that needed some improvement, and a remake could easily alleviate that (and expand the roster of playable characters) and there's also Wrath of Cortex, which was in many ways the last game done in the classic style.
I actually liked Wrath of Cortex a lot, despite a few flaws. It was one of those games that got a mixed reception when it came out but retroactively became a fan favorite in light of the newer garbage like Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant.
I'd like to see improved remakes of Crash Bash and Wrath of Cortex, followed by a new canon.
Looking through the Unseen Gallery of Crash Twinsanity is the saddest fucking thing ever because that's when you realize the game was missing so much. Yeah there were occasional jokes (Cortex mentioning they were going to go to two dimensions but they "ran out of time"), but Twinsanity had the potential to be a truly great Crash game. As it is, it's probably the best post-Naughty Dog Crash game, but God it could have been so much more.I mean, we have this from 2017 in terms of PS2-era shit

Given that Crash is back in the limelight, I'm with this guy in making a remaster to Twinsanity with all the cut material. Kinda like what's going on with SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom. If a licensed game from 16 years ago can get a remaster with the cut content added back in for good measure, I see no reason why Twinsanity shouldn't get the same treatment.
I'm biased since Twinsanity was the first Crash game I ever played. I like Wrath of Cortex, but even that game was gutted hard when you look at the development history. I'd say Wrath was even more tragic since it was going to be open-world like how Twinsanity would eventually be, but it was decided they would play it safe, which of course led to it being seen as a mediocre sequel.Eh, I'd say Twinsanity was where the decline truly began and I preferred Wrath of Cortex.
However, I do think a lot of the problems that Twinsanity had that also led to the utter trainwreck that was Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant had a lot to do with the fact that Twinsanity got gutted and a lot of good stuff didn't make the final cut.
Honestly, had Twinsanity realized its full potential, Crash could have avoided its infamous downfall.
I actually do like this idea since it would be cool to see what would have been. Maybe it would be a glimpse into the world where Crash wasn't doomed to failure after being let go from Naughty Dog.Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing a "N. Sane Trilogy 2" consisting of Crash Bash, Wrath of Cortex, and Twinsanity, fully remade and realized to new potential.
It's Warped but worse, and considering Warped's the worst of the original trio, then... Yeeeeah.I prefer Twinsanity over WOC because even in its unfinished state, Twinsanity was at least ambitious. Whereas, I felt like WoC was just “Warped, but less good” after replaying it a few years back
I’d argue the original was worse (solely referring to the PS1 versions). Mainly because 1 had a lot of weird kinks that were never really ironed out until Cortex Strikes Back (like the bad save system, the long load times, the occasionally wonky level design, and the bizarre spin attack cooldown)It's Warped but worse, and considering Warped's the worst of the original trio, then... I dunno, I've replayed 1 as many times as I have 2, maybe even more. It's my personal favorite Crash game, though it's neck in neck with 2.I’d argue the original was worse (solely referring to the PS1 versions). I’d say the non-platforming segments of 3 are better in the remake. But I do agree that CSB is king. Though, part of my bias against Crash 1 could stem from the fact that I played 2,3 and WOC before it.I dunno, I've replayed 1 as many times as I have 2, maybe even more. I've only ever completed 3 in its entirety once.
Can't say I fully agree with this, mostly because the controls felt stiffer than the original. At least it did for the motorcycle, the tiger, and the jetski.I’d say the non-platforming segments of 3 are better in the remake.
I played WOC first, then 1, 2, and 3. Funnily enough, when I played 3 for the first time I was struck by how similar it was to WOC. But by that point I much preferred how 1 and 2 played in comparison.Though, part of my bias against Crash 1 could stem from the fact that I played 2,3 and WOC before it.
I've played Crash 1 so many times it's no longer an issue, but I totally understand why someone would get turned off by it, especially in the later parts of the game where the difficulty ramps up. If you fuck up then you have to power through a few more stages just so you can save. And the gem saves don't save level progress, which is really fucking dumb.Though, even when taking those games out of the equation, Crash 1’s save system still kinda sucked. I dunno, to me needing to use bonus stages (that only give you one try and are randomly spaced out between levels) feels a lot more awkward than say Donkey Kong Country where you had designated saving areas or Super Mario World and Sonic 3, where you just auto-saved every few levels
