Was this a YouTuber? I remember a guy with the username dope hut who had a ton of shit like that because he was a schizophrenic living on a trust fund. His YouTube just disappeared one day so i never figured out what happened to him

Your point is correct, but as someone who was so poor for so long, it's fucking magical to be able to throw something out and get one that works properly instead of fiddling or babying some piece of shit thing.

I'll add to that. As someone who grew up lower middle class but lived in a wealthy area (by wealthy, I mean it wasn't uncommon to see someone tearing down their mansion to build a bigger mansion every summer) and seeing the other kids all wearing Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Aeropostale with the latest gaming consoles and phones is an absolute gut punch. Hell, I didn't even like those clothing brands. I just wanted people to stop giving me shit for getting my clothes from Target clearance.
 
Did the person buy the products in their video? And if not, did they ask to be a sponsor/advertiser because they have been customers of the brand in the past? Will they ever use said product again? Just like cable, the internet is a sea of advertisements, but also, I remember when the internet found Monster Energy Drinks and ran a better marketing campaign than Pepsi because the logo was cool and everyone was hopped on high dose caffeine and b vitamins.

Everyone has their own calculus for what their time is worth. Steve Jobs famously drove his Mercedes without license plates because he would keep his cars no longer than 90 days, exchanging them for identical new models every three months so that he never had to bother going to the DMV to register them. The bath he took on depreciation would be enough to bankrupt most normal people, but for someone with his level of wealth, it was probably the equivalent to me throwing away a used Kleenex.

I can't really fault someone who does the math and determines that their time just isn't worth spending on fixing some repairable thing and just replacing it instead. It's their money, after all. What frustrates me, though, is when someone recklessly wastes money like that and then complains about being broke.
 
I got into sim racing lately, still using a controller but I'll probably get a wheel and pedals next pay day because I'm having fun. HOLY FUCK, sim racers are the biggest gear whores I've ever encountered. I play fighting games too and I've never heard anyone jerk themselves off over the nice arcade stick they've got the way these nerds do with their sim rigs. A Moza R3 is, like, baby's first wheel to some of these fuckers. You could use that wheel and only that wheel and do great, it's even direct drive. But no, dude, you have to spend at least twice as much for a REAL sim racing experience. They pay a subscription for iracing, pay about fifteen dollars a pop to access other content like a car or a track (of which they buy many to be able to race in a certain series) and they have the most expensive wheels, pedals, every kind of gear shifter they might "need" for a stock car, a formula Ford, etc. and god damn do they overestimate how important this shit is. You'll never get a good lap time without the most expensive Moza, the best seat, a vibrator under your asshole to simulate the feel of the car on track, and a bunch of other tat. All that, and they're still mid at the game. And don't you dare call my super serious simulator a game, chud, it's real racing. I could totally win a race in a hypercar IRL because I do it in my room. Am I insane or a coping pooroid, or does anyone else here do sim racing and feel the same way about these people?

It's also not like he was harming anyone. He was kind of helping people because he was putting a bunch of barely used Mercedes on the market, so maybe someone who otherwise couldn't have afforded one could get it.

Any serious sim player is like that. Sim racers are probably the most visible since that's one of the cheaper and easier sim genres, look into sim piloting sometime, those guys are insane. And I've personally known two guys who have spent upwards of $3K on their Mechwarrior setups.

Agreed, but Jewtube is the most egregious with their handling of the content.

Chris Hansen did a video about underage jailbait models on YouTube that were sponsored by companies selling 18+ age restricted products.

His video was banned within an hour, YouTube labeled the content as CSAM.

The only content was clips of videos from YouTube, monetized videos that are still up there today.

It’s not CP when (((they))) do it, but it IS when us filthy goyim discuss (((their))) degeneracy.

I’ll admit to spending insane amounts of $ on my stereos but I do it by spending the money on the components that actually matter - the source, the amps and the speakers.

This dude is spending $500 on custom cables that are connected to a $1000 DAC that’s wired up with the thinnest spaghetti wire on earth.

Same sort of people who spend literally $7500 for a gold plated AC outlet for their wall, ignoring the fact that power traveled hundreds of miles to them already 😂
 
A common defense I hear from Shein shoppers is that it's "all they can afford". There's a cardigan at Target that I really like. It started at $40, which is way more than I'm willing to spend on a piece of clothing. Thing is, I know that it will only cost $12 when it reaches the end of its clearance cycle and I'm willing to wait for it. After ~2 months, it's finally started its clearance cycle and there's still a few weeks to go before it reaches $12.

The "Shein is all I can afford" crowd simply lack patience. You never see them post receipts. There's no way in Hell they'd tell anyone how much they spent. I guarantee they're spending more than you or I, especially considering how often they need to replace the cheap, shitty clothes they get from Shein.

I'm of the opinion that though sim racing can be consoomerist, I think the fact people take the hobby seriously helps to blunt it.

Tempted to go back to Target and take pictures of the book to upload here. It's not the only Golden Girls book they have. It's such a weird choice of IP. Not only was it not a kids' show, but it's not even something the parents of LGB's demographic would've watched. The show ran from 1985 to 1992. Even if Blanche wasn't a whore, it's still a slice-of-life sitcom about middle-aged women. I watch some Golden Girls when I was a kid, but that's only because my mom had it on the TV and really didn't care about the age-appropriateness of the media I consumed. She had me watching the Alien and Child's Play series in grade school. Napoleon Dynamite was off limits, though.
