Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Aside from looking like shit, why did they chose Sulu over McCoy or Scotty?
Going by the background it seems there might be another set with more characters. Unless those are just there to blue-ball whoever wants to buy this.

EDIT: I'm only getting search results for the one set, might be blue-ballings but it also might be just one of those things where they plan to do more but haven't yet.

Same thing when they send teenage girls all those freebies and you wind up with a pile of "sheer bodysuit haul" videos with models of "questionable" age barely covering up getting barfed up by the algorithm. They fucking know why those videos in particular seem to get "unusually high" view counts given the alleged content.

It actually amazes me how little YT cares about genuine underage naughtiness on their platform so long as the money's flowing and at least a token effort is being made to hide the nipples and camel toes.
it's really bad on tiktok and you probably don't even wanna investigate instagram. piles and piles of unholy borderline cp

Been to a nerd store lately filled with fugly Funkos.

Could anyone explain the appeal to me plz?

With fugly porcelain shit, it does not degrade over time and might be actually valuable to serious collectors. Or museums.
Merchandise for stuff that doesn't often get merchandise with a quantity over quality mindset.

You guys want to know what's really horrible about this video? How many things I recognize in it.
So many things I've seen in other videos (e.g. when I'm grabbing videos for other threads) in the backgrounds of homes or in cars. There are just so so many THINGS that people all seem to have.

I really don't get the snack tray accessories for Stanley cups. They make something with a narrow bottom extremely top heavy. Of all the needless accessories made for Stanleys, the tray has to be the worst.

Look at this guy. He knows who he's targeting, he knows.

The end clip of her reading the Bible is hilarious considering overconsumption is extremely greedy, especially to this degree.

Are these people actually happy? Do people really go home after a long day at work yea haha she a nigger no work and all aside and do this and enjoy it? Am I just simple? I get home, take my work shit off and then sit down with my stupid dog and my stupider wife, give them a hug and then go call trannies mean words on the funny green agriculture site and I could not be happier. I can't imagine wanting to do all that. It looks tiring and unfun. I refuse to believe that any normal person comes home and goes 'oh need to put my fucking engineering cleanroom shoe covers on my shoes to walk to my bedroom' instead of just fucking taking the shoes off at the door like a normal person. It's just such performative bullshit that I hope it's just for the camera. No human in the history of viniculture has ever pulled out a fucking plate to decant 5 grapes on to for later consumption. There were Roman gods that had slaves just to pluck grapes from the vine to feed to them that would call this shit retarded and over the top.
Look at this guy. He knows who he's targeting, he knows.
I still don't understand why the sock horns are just marketed towards normal people. They're really cool and useful. If and only if you have a physical disability. It'd be like advertising wheelchairs as a new ergonomic and comfortable alternative to the bicycle.

I could see old people or people with arthritis using it. The rest of the video just looked like cheap plastic Chinese widgets that are destined for a landfill

No that is quite literally the exact audience those sorts of sock horns were invented for. It's literally an independence aid for the elderly or disabled but for some reason gets shilled to regular people with no use for something like that.
Many (maybe even "most") "As Seen on TV" type of products are designed for the disabled. Many people who weren't born with their disabilities don't see themselves as disabled, so they see the ad with a regular guy struggling with a mundane task and can relate. And by marketing the products to the general public, the companies break out of the niche of assistive medical devices and can sell a lot more. It does not surprise me in the least to see these sorts of products making their way to TikTok shops -- that's just evolving with the times.

Take the sock thing, for example. There are probably a fair amount of arthritic people who need it very much. Then there are also probably a lot of people who are on the cusp of needing something like that but for whom their condition isn't so bad that they'd complain about it to their doctor, and also probably a smaller but still significant number of people who could use it temporarily, say while recovering from a sports injury -- these people would never know such a thing existed if not for the general marketing, which allows the seller to move more units.

Able-bodied people buying it for the novelty are just gravy

I agree with what many have said that a number of these things are originally designed as mobility aids and then added to the rotation of cheap junk for phone- and shopping- addicts to buy, but I also think that these junk dealers also use that as an excuse to avoid the accountability of adding to ever piling landfills.
Also this guy has bigger tits than my gf in sixth form

I can near guarantee you she doesn't do half this shit when she's not on camera. It's not only a performance, it's performative. It's the same thing with them washing chicken (general thread link, it's in there somewhere), they've been taught "chicken has germs on it, so it needs to be cooked thoroughly" which is boiled down by their double digit IQ to "chicken dirty, it need washin'".

That's even more neurotic with cleanliness than I, but at least things are clean.

Yeah, I've seen some crap I thought to be superfluous, like anything with an unnecessary computer in it, but then I hear a guy with a disability I know talking about how it allows him to live without being a burden to others and I feel a little bad. :(

Something that's not really talked about in this thread is the quality of consoomers to not just be able to consoom in a vacuum. The number one thing that makes a person a consoomer is that they will never put effort where instead they can consoom and will apply that dogmatically to everyone around them, in a crabs in a bucket like effect. A few days ago, I was continuing work on repairing an old kitchen appliance and my friend walked into the room, inquired about what I was doing, and asked indignantly "Why don't you just buy a new one". While he was correct that buying a new one would be easier and more time efficient, it dawned on me that him and many like him have zero capacity of being proud of their handy work, learning a new skill recreationally, or making something through their own time and effort. Anyways that concludes my rant about my crippling autistic hobbies and interacting with normalfags
