Thanks, Chip.

To tell you the truth, I've got something of a game plan going on for my writing this year. All I need is to get myself motivated, and I'll be in business. First, I'll work on the first draft of Alphaboy, as well as some short stories. Then, I'll churn out a couple of scripts to give to my high school drama teacher for her to choose from. I'm good friends with her, and she was a huge influence on me. After that, I'll work on a substantially improved version of Redesigning Eva. Finally, I'll see if I can write a script for another friend, b-movie director Albert Pyun.

No really, I'm buds with Albert Pyun. The guy who directed Cyborg, the Nemesis movies, Brainsmasher, Dollman, etc.
I don't want to be bossy, but I wouldn't recommend planning this much out. You've proven that you get frustrated easily when you don't have inspiration to write. Looking ahead and going "look at all the other projects I have to get to!" will make it pretty disheartening when you're struggling on a project.

Thanks, Chip.

Okay, stop right there. Give yourself one goal at a time, otherwise you're going to overwhelm yourself. For now, just do a chaos draft of Alphaboy or write a review or something.

EDIT: Heh, hivemind, @Chipmunk's Bounty .

I friended him on Facebook, and liked his page, after watching Cyborg.

.....mmmm, Connor, sweetie, that's kinda not how being buddies works....

"Well, I mean, all I know about you is that you liked me on Facebook but......sure, I'll read your scripts!"

We still chat from time to time. I know he finished Road To Hell, and it's playing in an ultra-limited release nationwide.
Sounds like ordinary interaction between a creator and one of his fans to me. Has he invited you over for coffee yet?

Have you thought of starting a Twitter account? It could help you focus your thoughts, and following interesting people can be good for the inspiration.

It was... different.

Different is good. It's always good to try and expand your musical tastes and listen to more experimental stuff. Go outside of your comfort zone. You might find yourself liking it.

If somebody tells me a band is weird, I will seek them out on purpose.

OT but thanks for indirectly introducing me to that. It was good different.

That and more Twitter content equals more lulzmilk.

The music board here is almost certainly pretty bangin. I don't frequent it enough myself though.

Thanks, but no thanks. It would probably make things worse.
It may act as an inspiration for you (during a blue moon on Friday the 13th when the planets are aligned and the stars form a Molly Ringwald constellation that is). Then again it could just make you more lazy and paranoid and thus more whiny, but you don't know how things affect you until you try. Trying new things and seeing how they affect you is a part of life.

You really just need to come out of your shell some and set a routine though, you'll find that people aren't so bad if you just talk to a kind, genuine person and not some asshole who'd snap at you for trying to start a conversation because he/she thinks it's the cool way to act (you need to be kind and genuine yourself before you'll find such a person, and don't throw their friendship in their faces just because you're feeling pissy). The mind instinctively amplifies all negative experiences and events in self-preservation instinct, especially if they're right in our faces. The news reports mostly bad shit because society wants us to do something about it that's not complaining online. That's probably why it seems like the world is an all bad place, or at least mostly bad but the good people outweigh the bad from what I've actually seen.

If you want to keep writing Redesigning Eva/Alphaboy, that's fine; you could probably use Alphaboy to convey positive and helpful messages, you could probably have him doing volunteer work that benefits society when he's not fighting crime, just generally build an outstanding moral character that readers can look up to. It's not like we'll have you turned into a drone for menial labor if you fail at that, we'll just implore that you keep trying until you get it right. The only way to deal with fear of failure is to face it, and to face it is to keep fighting at the maw of your fear. Face failure and keep trying until it's right. Cowering at failure keeps the cycle of failure going, mostly failure from doing nothing.

Well that was a huge wall of advice that Connor probably won't take but someone else with a crippling fear of failure could make use of this.

How about this song?
I was thinking about music from Sonic games with inspirational lyrics cause I was listening to Crush-40's Sonic music on YouTube; I think this is the kind of music Connor needs.
