Are you talking about guardian ad litem? Because if that is the case then he will have a hard time breaking away from his parents. Basically it means that his parents have control of his finances and everyday living things. I know someone who has bi-polar and her parents are her guradians and she was trying to petition the court to have her independence but the court denied it.

Naw, it's actually not that unusual. I'm a woman but I often write from a male perspective. I always had boyish interests growing up and even my family says I act like one, but I don't have any gender issues.

With Connor though I get the feeling he's writing about Eva because he'd like to have sex with her. He probably imagines her being played by Molly Ringwald.
