Going abroad or somewhere else within the country for relatively low-skill managed work of some kind. He just needs his Pygmalion effect to kick in.

I had to download a new version of SAI so I could make transparent backgrounds. It's hard to get used to the new brushes. It's like life is kicking me in the balls.

Not by itself, no. However, if his parents kicked him out & he was homeless, he could get in due to his psych history & "cognitive impairment." Beats the homeless shelter (albeit not by much).

Of course not.

But he's shown zero ability to help himself. He's doing nothing with his life excluding one class in college which is forced by his parents. He can't even indulge his interest of writing for that long of a time.

In theory, Connor doing something like volunteering or writing more or literally anything positive or productive seems possible, but he has proven time and time again he won't do anything helpful.

He still runs on the same story ideas from middle school. To say something will change or get better for him in the next month, year or even decade is optimistic if his environment stays the same (or declines) . And why wouldn't it?

How will he become self sufficient? How will he become a working member of society?
 
Connor is lazy and childish but he's not retarded. If he has access to a regular tugboat when his parents die he'll just become an antisocial shut in like Nick Bate.

Will he by most standards live a complete and fulfilling life? Probably not.

Will he starve and become homeless unless he's put in a group home? No that's stupid and people should stop making that point.

I agree. A group home (or some other residential facility) would be great to scare him straight, but that's about it. & even then, that may not work.
What he really needs is some intensive CBT. Or stricter parents.

EDIT: It's kinda funny that group homes keep coming up, though, considering the parallels between Connor & Chris. @Connor, you are headed down that road, kid. I'm begging you, clean up your act before it's too late.
 
It would be incredibly poetic if he were put in a psych ward though considering his shitty self insert Klaus Krieger is a Hannibal Lecter rip off. Then he could be the only lolcow other than Brianna Wu to literally become his own original character.
 
Well, just to caveat myself, there is, I suppose, the potential for Connor to get worse. Chris' functionality has markedly declined since he was Connor's age, so it's possible Connor might eventually reach the point where a group home would be an improvement. But at this point, it's not warranted, and he would have to fall quite a long way before it was. Ruin's right, the worst case scenario for Connor is to become an antisocial shut in, although I like to think (Optimistic ratings incoming) that he won't stoop so far as to smear shit on the walls or openly advocate child pornography.

@Dudeofteenage is right in that it's early to say, but this is why I brought it up. This is what I fear what's going to happen if things don't change. @BOLDYSPICY! is also right in that what needs to change is the fact he needs behaviour therapy and some sort of radical change in regards to how his parents handle him. There is time for him to improve, rather than decline, it just bugs me that it seems so unlikely. :(

Oh yeah? I can't figure out how to get a wall to turn and make a door in literally the only editor that works with BLOOD and couldn't find info on that in the documentation. Does the universe expect me to take it like a champ?
Actually found a resource that will potentially help with this; I just felt like using that as an excuse for piling on the first world problems.

It's important to keep in mind just what we are: casual observers of Connor's overtly public life who have no interaction with him outside of the internet. We ultimately hold no sway in whatever direction his life takes. We can't even encourage him to write more than 50 words per day let alone have the power to put him in a group home.

I know it's easy to get swept up in some sort of crusade to change a lolcow or their situation, but that's a job for the people directly involved in their lives such as family and friends. Even then the only person who can change an individual is the individual themselves. So getting emotionally invested in Connor's improvement (or lack thereof) is only going to cause you grief in the end. If he asks for advice we can give it, just as we always have, but that's all we can do. And we've had much more patience with him than most people.

I'm thinking more borderline or a lack of emotional control. It looks a lot like bipolar but the cycles are much quicker and seem situational. The cycles are just extreme emotional responses to relatively minor things.

Many folks here talk about how predictable Connor and his cycle of 'tism is. Connor wants to write, makes a goal, gives up on goal, whines about his crappy writing, goes "fucky you" etc, etc
