The main thing I want to see Connor do is get the basic things of his life in order: Find a job, move out, take more classes in college, find a nice woman and take her out to dinner, etc. He can choose to write all he wants but it's not gonna get him anywhere in life until he gives his life a proper foundation to stand on.

That reminds me - a consensus seems to be that CWC is mentally a preteen inside. Is it a common symptom of autism spectrum disorders to act like a teenager or child well into adult years? Why is that so?

Welp, time to put my TRUE & HONEST armchair-psychologist fez & smoking jacket back on.

I think it's common for those with autism to retain a childlike mentality well into adulthood if people let them. I wouldn't go as far as to say Connor's parents are negligent---I don't know much beyond what Connor has to say---but it sounds like they baby him a lot. Barb 'n Bob did the same with Chris. I think a less-than-optimal environment could be a factor in both cases.

I'm thinking more borderline or a lack of emotional control. It looks a lot like bipolar but the cycles are much quicker and seem situational. The cycles are just extreme emotional responses to relatively minor things.

Nah, people with borderline tend to be charismatic, like yours truly. /takes a bow
Seriously, though, while he could fall under the Petulant BPD subtype, I think it might just be the 'tism. There's a ton of overlap, though, so it's hard to say.

People on the spectrum tend to be late bloomers in regards to a lot of life milestones.

I've never had any negative feelings towards him. He's always been a trill guy. It can be a bit frustrating when he goes into his defense mode, but other than that, he's a swell, albeit spergy, guy.

He has done some really not cool stuff before though, like the time that he tried to break a special needs girl just because he could, and he does say and do some things that are unlikable. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's a horrible person, and personally I find his little outbursts adorable, but he doesn't seem like a person I could just shoot the shit with.

Connor doesn't seem like that bad of a guy sometimes. I disagree with his blatant racism in the past, his misogynistic desire to torture women emotionally, and his hate for abortion, but I don't think our mistakes are the only thing that define us. He's toned down on a lot of that shit because I think he realized how insane it makes him sound. He's okay in my book, but telling people to go fuck themselves after asking them for advice is starting to wear on me. He just needs a bit more emotional maturity and learning how to control his temper.

He has some very ugly views. From his fantasies about mentally abusing a mentally disabled girl, to his adoption hate, to falsely accusing his parents of sexual abuse. I'm not really sure how much of that is due to his autism and how much of it is just because he's kind of a douch.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but these are things he says online, on accounts that are connected to his real name. This is something that a girl interested in him could find on Google if she wanted to. Even if he was just being an edgelord, it can have a real impact on how people perceive him.
