...but I think you should just count your lucky stars this thread, and indeed a good portion of the site at-large now (thank Juju and Rekieta's antics for that second part), has grown to despise EVS and Comicsgate, while expressing some sympathy for July, and don't push your luck expecting everybody to start sucking July's dick.

July is a guy who has been harassed by some absolute degenerate faggots, but he's not black Jesus. He has a much better work ethic than EVS, and his success has caused a lot of milk to flow from several other lolcows. To the point where a lot of people would like to keep seeing him succeed in the hopes of there being more milk. Most importantly, he's neither hateable or much of a lolcow (an attempt to give him his own thread here failed miserably).

You should be content with all that.

At the end of the day, KF is not really a fan site. It's always going to be more detractor focused.

I mean I think Kamen America from Iconic is mediocre and I honestly don't see how anyone else doesn't, but that doesn't mean I think Iconic is all mediocre....in fact I actually enjoy Soulfinder.

I have bought products from Iconic, but not Rippaverse. Because, unlike with Rippaverse, Iconic has put out products I like.

I would not go as far as to call myself a fan of Eric. I watch some of his videos but I do not buy his stuff. I am just sick of the "detractors" who really, really want an Eric July thread and then complain when we have the audacity to point out that he is not yet a lolcow. Just wait until he becomes a lolcow or something. Every now and then we get a bunch of people who accuse us of being cocksuckers of someone just because we do not shit on them enough for their liking. I can recall a certain someone saying we are a CG hugbox because we did not spend every single waking moment of our lives shitting on EVS. It is annoying.

Personally, I cannot understand why someone would hate Eric. I can understand not liking his comics and finding them mediocre. I can understand not thinking Eric is the best thing since sliced bread (he is just a good businessman who is a better musician than a comicbook guy). Hate is a big world to throw out like that.

I said it before "on here no less" and I'll say it again "and again and again and again" I'm just a fan of his products, I am not a fan of the man himself, especially when it comes to his political views. What you call Dick sucking, I call being honesty and being respectful. And yes I am glad EJ is continuing to be successful and you're right I can't nor do I want to force someone to like something they have no interest in, HOWEVER that also means I don't need to be told I don't really like something when I do "and yes it does happen on here" or that the things I like are objectively bad "another form of gaslighting that happens on here" I agree EJ is doing a very good job at making his haters look foolish, from CG, to SWC, to even the JuJu cult, but that doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy people trying to damage the company's reputation when it comes to quality on here. Carping I also don't like. Sorry but that's just how I am and not just with the Rippaverse either.

Seriously, the thumbnails are indefensible. I hadn't even thought of those when considering his possible DC comeback. I just facepalmed.

The whole "hippty jippity" talking point never came across as mocking Eric's casual slang as I believe intended, it was rightly seen as racist which was semi-arguable (he had plausible deniability, except the frequency gave away his pettiness), and then you throw in the thumbnails, and I know guys that would slap Ethan on principle.

There's definitely room for improvement with Rippaverse comics and I do believe some people are buying for idealogocial reasons (same for CG, which I should've made clear when I cited Meyer's "culture war bonds" comment). Those molehills get turned into these absurd mountains in every CG stream I've tried to watch (curiosity became morbid quickly). Thank Xenu for clippers.

Also, earlier in the thread I mentioned Geoff Johns' imprint at Image, I screwed up the name - it's Mad Ghost, not Ghost Machine. I've read Geiger Vol. 1 and it's a good example of Johns' world-building style, rather than his more "architecture as storytelling" continuity maintenance stories (i.e. as much as I love his GL, there was a bit of that there). Well worth checking out.

I REALLY don't know why people keep saying that even after EVERYTHING that has happened. The comics are not even political and people think they're being bought for political reasons? Who even STARTED that narrative? Also do I NEED to show you a review from someone who wasn't even a fan of him when they bought the product that actually enjoyed it.....AGAIN?
