I’m not sure schools ever directly taught about economics (as in, as part of the mandatory curriculum instead of as an optional side course) and preparing for the future- at least in the last 20 or 30 years- and this “the world is going to EXPLODE” shit has been prevalent since the Cold War, but I do agree that education has completely degraded and that at this point you’d be better off letting your kid be raised by wolves than you would be letting them attend a public school in the year 2023

But what does this mean for people who bought customs or MYO tickets with designs awaiting upload by mods because the owners of the species do literally fucking nothing? It means you're fucking SCAMMED, BABY!
None of these people will have the balls to charge back and will sit for years with their never to be made fish kenomimi people that's promised updates for almost 2 years now, all while the owner of the species still happily uploads a bunch of unrelated artwork to their CS and ignores their own community members getting fucked over by their prime admin. Basically, just another day in a mediocre niche group CS.

Ah yes, another "unique" species. I seriously do not understand what certain people see in CS like these. The design is literally just manta ray people.

I mentioned Grimsby Grove some time ago, and despite the mod team being burnt users from Wyngro, its the group members that create the chaos. Back in 2022, they briefly, then permanently closed the in-house anon box because when you run a group full of 16 year olds, you're gonna have some catty ass members

Back when Wyngro was a thing there was FSW (Free Speech Wyngro) since a lot of the users would be outright muted or banned for any sort of critical discussion inside the discord. Grimsby Grove/ Staves Rest Drama is not FSW. You have the toxic seepage of highschool-esc drama and petty in-fights all at the seat of this ask blog. I'm not going to go through the entire blog.
But amongst the bickering, a very public ban happened. A popular user by the name of Chip2Changling was banned because /looks at notes/ she was an ex-proshipper. I didn't say it was for a good reason.
The user was banned and that was that. It was a fairly quick response, and the staff has insisted that any instances of degenerate behavior like pedophilia is not tolerated.

There is an accusation of a pedophile in the group. The minor in question came forward to the mod team, was turned away, and went to the ask blog to blow the whistle. Shows no proof publically, only in dms with the blog owner, whom also does not show them publically. No police called, but instead a "doc" was being made.
Alright.
Moving On because that's how fast the blog moved. Keep in mind, during the same time period the group had just wrapped up its giant Halloween event and was doling out the shop prizes.
An ex-staff member came forward and shared google docs and spreadsheets they still had access to, months after leaving the mod team.
In response to their docs being 'leaked', they pulled access from them, because they were originally set to anybody can view with a link

Also one of the mods responded with a journal (archive) with a tl;dr of: not having fun? fuckin leave retard.

atm the blog is slow but I'm sure with the group's anniversary and upcoming lorekeeper site things will pick up.

Apologies for mildly necroing an inactive thread but I wanted to show this.
A closed species of limbless, eyeless creatures wearing silly accessories. We once again love our creators and their bare minimum attempt of actually being original and demanding money from it! Though I didn't see any website when seeing the post so who knows if the creator behind this is money hungry or not. But they sure aren't deserving of having this be labeled as 'closed'.
Can these people do more with original species that isn't just paywalling literal items under a "Common/Uncommon/Rare/Legendary" label as if they're in some RPG game? You can really tell if the species was made to make a quick buck rather than one of actual passion, even if some bits of the passion are still there.
It's been years since I've known of CS and nothing and I mean NOTHING has changed regarding its reputation. It'll always be known as the sort of pyramid scheme to fool easily manipulated children and adults, no matter how hard these people go "they're supporting the artist / it's not hurting anyone".
I will never, ever let go of the thought that Closed Species are just """""sociably acceptable""""" NFTs.
Jokes aside, I just randomly saw it and didn't really think twice about if there was anything additional to find. If I ever do find it again though, I'll definitely be sure to take an extra look toward it.

Vader-San actually doesn't get enough credit for making 'protogen but better' as Synths, making it an open species, and the early art snuck in some references about how they're even open source in the lore as a jab.

Just another means of USI in the furfag community - arbitrarily controlling what others draw at the threat of deplatforming and "YOU'LL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER". Basically, it's the furfag version of "gAmEpLaY pAtEnTs" like how Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor means you can't make games where NPCs actually remember your decisions and react to you the next time you see them (this is a gross oversimplification, I suggest you look more into this, the situation, and the game.) In reality, game developers just find ways around this and continue to make games like that where NPCs can remember what you do, because they're not using the exact implementation of the "Nemesis System" as outlined in the patent. Warframe is one of/the most popular looter shooters and has a nemesis system, and no complaints from WB yet.
In much the same way: furries' complaints will fall on resting ears. You're a terminally online furry from a run-down town who makes *pinches fingers* juuuuuust enough to afford a dinner of Chinese. How you plan to "patent" the concept of a certain species and prevent anyone from drawing it without talking to you first... well, that simply won't happen. You can (and indeed furries have, albeit for the purpose of shutting down YT videos they don't like) copyright your character, but you're going to create a Streisand effect if you try to shut down anybody who has a fursona of your "closed species" who doesn't want to shell out the same price as:
2 next-gen game consoles (the ps5 goes for 450$ apiece) and a new game
