People who pay for closed species do so for the clout, as it's pretty much the furry equivalent of a country club. They could care less about the design, more or less, it's for the 'luxury' or social status associated with a popular artist.

Why sperg out at other artists for illustrating something so basic? A small child could create a Ferret/lizard hybrid or some shit. Why be so psychotic about it? funny thing: one cs drama blog imploded partially because they got offered to leak those stygians, the species staff came to them saying to don't do that and the blog mod went into a defensive mode. (look for csmean, that for what is known, they're a 30-something that also was rumored to be jesse, some peep that had some drama with cccats and peakits and for which mushy, the csmean mod, was oddly defensive)

I did hear this through the grapevine: Is it true that the 1.7k dollar Mignyan was just a collaborative effort to pull more attention to the species? I know that the moderators are okay with shill bidding in order to make their designs appear to be worth more, so I figured that claim was plausible. Right down to the "payment plan." Nobody has to know how much money actually changed hands.

This includes the several callouts of people who were outed as either being edgily antisemitic or Neo-Nazis (ATOM). he also felt "personally hurt" when a Mignyan paypig was banned for having a military inspired OC due to this perceived anti Semitism.
