Man, you two really have it out for me. All this over me mentioning and liking what this game was inspired by. That is apparently worth raging and name-calling over. As opposed to actual debate.

And yes, I am capable of talking about things other than anime. Such as asking how this game compares to other RPGs released this decade. Given that it and Baldur’s Gate 3 are the highest rated games on Backloggd, is it really worthy of that rank?

Sciel and her End Slice skill is what helped me with Simon the Meganigger.
Verso is alright, but felt too much a weeb for my liking.

I’m still working through the game. I’m doing some side quests and beating some chromatic variants before going to the Paintress with the rapier that Maelle gets. I though Sciel was weak trash for a while until I realized that I equipped a weapon that has a chance of doing either normal damage or double damage at the expense of taking more damage, which mean that she would often die to a small breeze lol.

Sciel has a skill that heals the party while expending her stacks of cards, and if you slap the Pictos that apply Haste, Shield and the other buffs whenever you heal, she's extremely great. Way better than Verso's wannabe Devil May Cry ranking system.
 
I loved Verso. Use Dualiso, Combo Attack, and whatever other AP-increasing pictos and you’ll be shitting out free AP for days. Corpeso + Cheater + Combo Attack + Double Burn is even better.
