Jesus Civvie's positive reviews on new games are just a bore fest. I gave up after 10 minutes, just saying "look how awesome it is" over and over again, usually to shit that's trying way too hard to be cool.

Also started Amid Evil and at least the first two chapters are way too easy even on hard, I heard there is a secret harder than hard difficulty but I don't know if it's worth it or it makes the game a chore to play
Epic steampunk bee and dykey the bobcat are just two of the most horrible voices you will ever hear. Why the fuck is everyone in this game auditioning for a role in the next Borderlands?
It looks like it has some fun ideas but WTF are they playing at. This seems to be a running trend in modern games.

Might be me being petty but I really dislike that you don't kill Ripper.

Now that you mention it, yeah, it really sounds like it wants to be Borderlands, kinda making the point of retro FPS moot.

He walks into an anomaly and dies.

Making the cancer mouse upbeat and happy, while preventing him from speaking, has the opposite result Civvie wants. I wish people understood that about strawman characters.

I know that'll be of no use to ask I guess but, I wonder if there have been any dramas recently in either his discord or some other places. such as reddit for example.

It just seems to be all to quiet these days...

I think it's your classic case of burn out happening right now.

I thought cancer mouse is a sympathetic vehicle to inject /pol/ humor in a Youtube-approved way until I stumbled upon this thread.

The game looks good. It's like a hyperactive teen brought up exclusively on action movies and FPS games in the 2000s learned about WW1 in his history class and decided to make a game. Looks like a mix of Painkiller and that one map from Call of Duty Zombies, wish there was more WW1 stuff but the game clearly didn't care and just wanted to get to the Painkiller stuff fast enough.
Then again, I can't really seem to take the WW1 aspect seriously when your character is seen dual wielding 45 pound heavy machine guns with little effort.
I will say this, it's interesting that the ending is determined by your difficulty, even more so that the easier the difficulty the better the ending. I dunno if there is a message here, what I do wonder is if any other game did this?
Civvie is right, I think a Painkiller episode would be boring...but I kind of want him to review all the horrible spin offs that released after the original + battle out of hell, and you can't have that without making a video on them as a primer.

As opposed to his reviews of recent boomer shooters that are 45 minutes of him saying he shot something and that it was fun?

Civvie has a weird elitism over arena shooters, as if corridor shooters are some big IQ alternative. And the ridiculous thing is that Painkiller is more interesting than 95% of the shit he reviews favourably. Nearly every stage has unique enemies and the level design is amazing (opera house, babel). Nevermind some of the best weapons in a video game. Just showcasing every unique level (which is nearly all of them barring maybe the second military base) is already half an hour of the material.

But no, it's way more interesting to talk about some indie shit that he isn't allowed to criticise and that it contains memes.

You know, because Painkiller has good levels, monster or weapons, doesnt auto make it an interesting video. Try and talking about this game on a video, without sounding like you're on repeat. Hed prob have better time with talking about the spin offs, because of how broken they are and you can poke fun at it, but the original painkiller? Eeeh...not so much.

Naw, he's a fairly standard youtuber that started out edgy, but now over compensates and tries to be a Good Ally whenever possible. I like his content, but the hypocrisy always niggles at me when he kicks off about offensive humour.

It's not being good, it's variety. Painkiller has insane amount of variety per episode which gives a lot of talking points, as well as some levels that go above linear. Heck, you even have the black tarot mechanics that make you play a level in a specific way.

Variety is really the thing that separates good and bad civvie content
