They’re a trove of surprises...like the fact that she constantly posts “help, I have a terrible hangover!! Need cures!” and insists in each one that she rarely drinks. Or constantly insists she has an eating disorder, then admits she eats rubbish and takeaways constantly and her “disorder” consists of crash-dieting for a month to lose the same ten lbs over and over.

So she’s less “fainting ill victorian waif” and more “pudgy, ugly video game-playing lazy bitch who sits around stuffing her face with crisps all day and expects everyone else to work and provide for her because all work is beneath her.”

the 'eaux' suffix really does a number on me. It's like shorthand for pretension, so "Milneaux" registers in my head as 'Pretentious Millennial"

EDIT - Christine hates the sex, I'm guessing (if that dude was the limit of my experiences I would too). But I'd imagine that as long as her ego gets fed, sex takes a backseat to other indulgences. I wonder what she thinks of this, I believe it's from an old issue of Punch:

If you have half a brain you realize that the millions and millions of people in this world who DO have a real chronic illness get no special asspats or attention for that illness. And MOST don’t want any fucking special attention, at that, FOR having their illness. It’s a hindrance and an annoyance. These bishes who go to the ER every week/ month because they want attention are insane. Attention from someone who is paid to do a certain job and clock out is what you want? What happened to good old-fashioned promiscuity or doing charity work?

Edit: Can you imagine if Jaq Jaq had been stupid enough to write down, in Internet forums, her plan to steal other’s illnesses and whatnot? Lolz.

Gee, I don't know Karen, maybe because most people who start university as teenagers or in their early 20s manage to get their master's long before they turn 30, and it's not some kind of herculean effort for them? Why would you even want to spend so much time on getting a degree?

So faking sick was better than admitting you sucked at your hobbies and couldn't handle the responsibility of a real job as evidenced by the fact that you can't even pass an associates program in six years.

Increasingly people are going back to school to get a masters at later and later ages as the job market shifts and a bachelors is no long sufficient to climb the ladder. A lot of universities are now offering night classes for this demographic (actually the one I attended only had night classes because so many of their MA students were non-traditional students that day classes would get cancelled from lack of registration). It's not that big a deal unless you're planning on some specific careers. That said, performing arts is definitely one that you need to get into young and work your ass off to get even the least bit of success. For everyone who ends up singing in a major opera company there are 3000 others who worked hard, got their degrees on time, auditioned until they were bludgeoned into cherry pie filling by the constant rejection, and went back to their podunk hometowns to teach private lessons because they couldn't hack it.

Yeah i don't like to backseat mod but this is such a pet peeve of mine. It rarely results in more m.ilk. It just makes the cow disappear in shame as his/her family brings down the hammer on their social media use.

Much better to let these things happen organically.
 
If what I've found via a quick search is accurate, this is interesting: There is an 8 year age gap between Carrie's mother and father, and Carrie's mother gave birth to Carrie's older brother at age 17. Carrie followed when her mother was 34. If this is accurate, it's not too surprising that her parents were okay with Carrie getting married at 18 to someone 10 years older.

Obviously, do not attempt to contact any of these people.
