$20,000 to make a Chris Chan documentary meanwhile GenoSamuel did that shit for free.

Ok, I want to be serious with this because I know someone will bring it up. Have you and/or Joseph considered the consequences of doing this documentary? What I mean is that there are people who will dox you, drag you through the mud (if not already) and will see it as you mooching off of Chris' infamy. Plus, how will you try to justify the things that Chris has done/said (that he overshared and backfired on him) because the last thing we want is for you to enable Chris' delusions to the point where people will justify even more that Chris is far gone mentally. In my opinion its not worth the trouble but...if its what you want, ce' la vie.
 
People seem to be forgetting one of the most influential figures in Christory. They need to get an interview with Mary Lee Walsh

If you're going to ask for twenty thousand dollars from people you really need to prove you have at least some knowledge of film making beyond just "hey look at the quality of my dad's camera and the money I can spend." The fact that you don't have any experience means you need to show WAY more in your Kickstarter description, you need to prove to people you're able to handle this task.

Shit, even if you uploaded one full-length interview it would help.

I'm no expert but I think it really is Megan. Hard to say but if they got that much footage locally, why not? Maybe she sees getting a few dollars for her trouble out of this if it takes off. I know a chin and a slight profile obstructed by hair is not much to go on, but have a hunch it's her.

This is a very good point. People tend to severely underestimate the potential cost of getting involved with Chris, if you guys have any skeletons in your closet they will be found sooner or later.

Thanks. I mean i know people will be interested and amused by the footage we got, i can understand people's apprehension tho. To your point and several others... The kick starter page IS a bit of a rush, that has more to do with over enthusiasm to show the trailer, not that we are trying to scam. I mean i watch Kickstarter scammers as well, which is partially why i personally advised not to over promise people anything except that funds would go back into production. We kept things secret and surprised some with what we were able to do with the trailer, and we want to keep that going. We will touch up that Kickstarter page tho. Joseph will probably make a competent docu with or without additional funding.

It's a scam on all sides. The people making this want money, Chris wants to be creepy and when called out say, "refer to my video where I make out with my dogs and everyone says I'm special".

The heat will be of greater utility to you than the exactly nothing that will come of donating to a random Kickstarter started by some idiot as a way to get donations from idiots that Chris went along with because he is also an idiot.

Also, why has no one called their Chris documentary "A Portrait of the Autist as a Young Man" yet? That title should be taken by now.

Agree, these faggots see Chris' Patreon and pitty/ween bucks, and they want to jump all over it. Chris of course, thinks he's going to get back with the brony babes after they see him playing with markers while classical music plays in the background not knowing that he's getting his dumb ass scammed too.
 
Best of luck to you. Hope to see it on Netflix. Ignore the idiots who 1) aren't aware that making a movie costs money; 2) hate the movie without haven't watched it; and 3) hate the movie because it doesn't represent THEIR specific perspective on Chris among the panoply of perspectives.
 
@CMCW on one hand you are promising all-new stuff to us and a completely different perspective from what has been done before on YouTube (yet you are suspiciously broad about any details). On the other hand, going by that Kickstarter promo, you are a truly terrible cinematographer. Like seriously, some 3 tiers below made-for-TV movies, and not the good kind either. You must realize that, surely?

So OK you've got my attention with your broad promises but if that's the best your team can do right now, I strongly suggest you to fire them and get someone good to do your stuff (especially the editing). Anyone who has been on Kickstarter periodically or knows anything about cinema surely realizes what you've put out is truly embarrassing, either as a movie or as marketing. I'd shoot myself before being credited in it.

I do have a question for you though: are you and your pals at all involved with the recent poetry reading stunt Chris uploaded to YouTube?

We will fix the kickstarter, I'm not here to sell you Joseph's movie. Just to give you insight and tell you what i know. I was thinking to get him to post here and do some kind of AMA about his time filming with Chris/Barb/Megan but i'm not sure he would do that at this point. I'll still try to share some stuff tho.

Joseph didn't have a team helping him film, he just got a hold of Chris and made plans to film for a week, he got some good interviews were not trying to dangle over your heads or anything. I'm sure you will all see it one way or another. Also this isn't my project or my team lol, i think i already said how i been helping the film, i just been contacting people. Personally i don't care how it's filmed i'm just curious about the content. I seen clips and know the gist of whats been filmed but i haven't seen it yet. I heard some stories about what hanging out with Chris/Barb was like and that sort of stuff. I don't have much left to say about a lot of this stuff except we will fix up the kickstarter.

A lot of people are wondering why and making it out to be something it's not, it's for the content homie. 20k may be a lot but i know it would go back into the film, i also know that without a budget theres enough content and people helping to make something lower key, and if it was just about money, we'd make more just doing it that way, avoiding donations that would reward people a copy of the film.
