As if Disney/ Feige will bring them over. The way they act, they'll probably prefer making a movie about Squirrel Girl than making a character "that's been done before!", like they did with so many Spiderman characters. Goodbye MCU Green Goblin, MCU Doctor Doom, MCU Magneto...
As someone who had to endure 7 years of the comics pushing her as “the most popular/strongest/mightiest”, I can’t say the movie bombing so hard (especially to the audience it was pandering to) doesn't give me warm feelings. It feels very nice, though I doubt Marvel Comics will learn from this and stop mindlessly pushing her.
Problem is with Captain Marvel as she is in the comics is that she is the absolute most generic fucking superhero imaginable. As someone who had to endure 7 years of the comics pushing her as “the most popular/strongest/mightiest”, I can’t say the movie bombing so hard (especially to the audience it was pandering to) doesn't give me warm feelings. The Russos have made in my opinion the three best MCU movies ever. I would hate to see them get cucked out in the same manner Lord and Miller got for Solo.So it seems that Marvel Studios and Disney are doing to the Russo Brothers for Endgame what Sony did to Sam Raimi for Spider-Man 3.
God damn it!
After the first Avengers movie, people were starting to see a few cracks here and there with the MCU. The Russos completely breathed new life into the MCU, starting with The Winter Soldier (which MADE Captain America popular). Then, after the disappointing Age of Ultron, the Russos gave us Civil War (which is the unofficial Avengers 3, basically). Then, the Russos gave us undoubtedly the BEST comic book movie villain since Heath Ledger's Joker with Thanos. Infinity War and Thanos had so much hype surrounding them that they were almost sure to fail and disappoint on some level. NOPE, the Russos did it; they made a great movie-- one of my favorite comic book movies ever, to be honest.
If Marvel Studios thinks that they would have had the same successful results had they kept someone like Joss Whedon to make Infinity War, then they are sorely fucking mistaken. The Russos have essentially MADE the MCU what it is today, and this is the thanks they get?!
I'm so disappointed in Kevin Feige right now. I guess you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
EDIT: I am also going to say that it sucks what Marvel Studios is doing to their own actors. From what I read in the Captain Marvel spoilers, it seems that the MCU is trying to retcon the things that the original Avengers team did over the past decade and pretend that "it all started with Carol Danvers." Jesus. So RDJ, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, etc ... None of their contributions matter now? What the fuck? If I were any of these actors, I would 100% resent Brie Larson right now.

When people ask me what my "Top 5 MCU Movies" are, I say without any hesitation:
The Russos have flat-out dominated my list. I'll never forget my reaction to when I saw The Winter Soldier in theaters: I was SO into the movie, that I was just silent the entire time. And when the credits started rolling, I was still silent, needing to take a few minutes to let the awesomeness of that movie sink in. It's the most badass superhero movie ever made, IMO. The Russos deserve so much better than this.
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Iron Man
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Captain America: Civil War
- Guardians of the Galaxy
While Feige is to blame for this fuck up, I think Larson should own up to this because seeing these behind the scenes leak makes her come off as a egotistic asshole like Katherine Heigi and Marlon Brando.I just love that they've had what, 11 years of careful planning and a very clear roadmap planned for the whole arc they've been building towards since Iron Man 1 and for some reason a character that's supposedly going to be one of (if not the most) important in the massive fucking conclusion isn't introduced until the very last minute. This is something I'd expect from DC because their CU has been an endless string of fuck-ups not from a company that's been carefully building towards this shit for over a decade.
I get that behind-the-scenes politics may have dictated Carol's inclusion in the finale but you can't expect the general public to know or care about that. Magic McGuffins introduced seconds before the final conclusion are never a good look.

The Ghostbusters reboot also was a critical failure, but we're stilling getting beat over the head with how terrible people are for disliking it. The generally negative fan reaction to it is still being brought up as an example of an egregious wrong perpetrated against the righteous woke.

That article will not be a lone voice, all the usual outlets will inevitably pile on. Already detractors are labeled as creepy racist sexists. That tone might well dominate once the movie flops proper.
I'll just give away my top 10 list here:When people ask me what my "Top 5 MCU Movies" are, I say without any hesitation:

Also, Lord and Miller now have an Oscar, and dominated awards season with their masterpiece, Into the Spider-Verse. They mopped the floor over Disney's lame efforts of 2018 (Incredibles 2 and Wreck-It-Ralph 2 were garbage movies). Not only that, but they made a better Spider-Man movie than Marvel Studios did. I liked Spider-Man: Homecoming and all, but Spider-Verse kicks its ass. Lord and Miller are doing pretty great right now, I'd say (even if I hated the Lego Movie 2).
I'll just give away my top 10 list here:
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Captain America: Winter's Soldier
- Iron Man 3
- Guardians 2
- Captain American: Civil War
- Guardians
- Iron Man
- Doctor Strange
- Spiderman: Homecoming (As a Spiderman film, I honestly preferred both Sam Raimi's second Spiderman film and Into the Spiderverse over Homecoming; but regardless, it was still fun to watch)
- Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain America: Civil War
