Honestly it would be an immense relief if he was trying to undo the last ten years of damage, but I don't think he can without taking things to an extreme like mass deportions and revoking temporary permits and clawing back the vast fortune Trudeau spent like water.

Am I correct in stating that Canadian chugs are the most empowered population of Joe Blows on Earth? Afaik no other country has a group of people with sovereign authority to strike a project dead simply because they don't like it.

Yes, you are correct. Their reservations gets millions in tax dollars per year, they don't have to pay income tax and they have done everything possible to ensure that we don't get to tap into natural resources that would not only justify our social programs, there’d be enough surplus for generations to come that we could theoretically be wealthier than the UAE’s oil industry.

But no, we can't have nice things like that.

On that subject, what was each one's awakening here? Last election, I had a discussion with a friend who voted Liberal and I had a hard time to get him to really lay his ideas or how to reach him on his terms. How do we really convince people?

He’s only saying he’ll cooperate with the tribes just so he won’t be labelled as a racist. I get the feeling that the next few months are going to be interesting, at this rate. If I had to guess why, it might just be him trying to get Conservative support now that the NDP isn't relevant.

You can get 300k detached houses in Tokyo, the largest city on Earth, with the same income as Toronto.

Tokyo, and Japan as a whole, consistently ranks near the top for housing affordability.

Canada is retarded. I've ran out of explanations.

Consider the ethnic makeup of Japan. It must be easy mode to have an affordable country where 90%+ of your population is a hard working, intelligent ethnic group with low propensity for crime.

It's a lot like comparing the cost of housing in rural Newfoundland to pretty much anywhere in Ontario. The absence of jeets, nogs, sandnogs, chinks, etc. really helps bring down real estate prices.

It's simpler than that.

Canadians don't have children, but we're forced to compete with 1.6 billion Indians for housing, healthcare, jobs, etc.

Meanwhile, Japanese people have a country for themselves. One of the reasons why their right-wing party is so dominant is because Japanese students are basically guaranteed jobs before graduating. The youth don't see a reason why they'd vote differently.

Nawh Carney has neither the charisma nor the desire to start (metaphorically) bashing chug skulls in. More likely is he will use this feigned outrage to slow roll his grandiose - yet completely ambiguous - infrastructure plans and let it excuse not following through. You can also see the signs of nothing happening courtesy of the remarks about having projects "compete" against one another to determine what's in the national interest alongside retaining all the buy in crap from various interest groups.

There won't be any pipeline or major mining project approved, let alone officially proposed, until Lib polling numbers start inevitably tanking and a snap election call starts becoming likely.

Until he rolls back all gun and speech laws to what they were in the 60s, causes housing and basic essentials for life to cost what they did 15 years ago at minimum, and abolishes all surveillance laws, and stops trying to push any of them through, I don't care what he does. He could directly contribute to me becoming a millionaire and I still wouldn't support him and I'd still wish death on his entire party and their orange rubber stamps. Fuck Canada.
