At this point I'm convinced Boy King Justin's trying to break everything so he can make some sort of comeback in 2029.

-. He starts some sort of trade war with Trump before the election
-. He gets voted out, but because his party is inexorably intertwined with him and because his stepfather Pierre Trudeau was able to come back he stays as leader
-. He has all the hard left senators he appointed gut or outright block anything the conservatives do in office
-. 4 years of decline later. He'll point to nothing being better or everything being worse and grift right back into office because in his view it's his birthright to lead the country.

Go ahead, tell me that he isn't narcissistic and egotistical enough to do this
Oh, he's narcissistic enough to attempt it. Whether he's able to pull it off is a whole other kettle of fish. One of the reasons why Pierre Trudeau was able to stage his 1979 comeback was because Joe Clark's PC government was a minority that collapsed in less than a year. The current year Conservatives are projected to obtain a majority with the LPC looking at a potential fall to fourth place. As for the Senate, the Salisbury Convention would obligate an opposition-dominated upper house to allow the common's legislative agenda to go forward because that was what they were elected on. If the Senate frustrates or thwarts the House of Commons' legislation, Poilievre could argue that the Senate represents the interests of a defeated government and not the will of the people. This could precipitate in a constitutional crisis with calls for Senate reform or abolish it entirely.

Perhaps the biggest snag to that plan is that four years in not enough for the public to forget (much less forgive) Trudeau's policies. He is the face of the infinite pajeets imported into this country and the economic hardship that led to the CPC gaining power in the first place. At least PET had the good sense to permanently retire from politics in 1984 before the LPC's crushing defeat at the hands of Mulroney. Trudeau running again in 2029 on a platform of being a messianic figure would more likely kill the party for good and be his family's ultimate legacy.

I work in an old industrial/metal shop, and over the years in puts a pang in my heart too see old machinery with a big stamp of "Made in Canada."

I was chatting with the older guys about how manufacturing and skilled trades are being thrown too the wayside, in favor of the electronic workplace. I'm in my late 20's, but for the last decade I've noticed I'm always th youngest one there.

I think a section of this doom and gloom stems from the way education was set up in public school, and the lower case I internets attraction with physicalities and posturing. I remember going through school, dead set too get my p-star (Learner licence for piloting) and start that career. However, the job counsellor and the teacher of the class held back the fact that I can't be a pilot while needing glasses. I only learned this in my final year, so the past 4 in that time were pretty much wasted time and effort.

Take your kids or friends too industrial areas. Bring up the fascination and determination that is needed to suspend and rig giant pieces of metal. Point out architecture and design.

The TL:DR of my post is, I think we are a nation of people who stopped planting trees for the future. I thinking order too move forward, one must think of those who would make use of it when you are gone.

I'm aware that's what's supposed to happen. but I still wouldn't put it past Justin to push the envelope and actually trigger some sort of meaningful senate reforms. Ironically if that was the course of action that he takes it would undoubtedly be his greatest political achievement

To be fair, Canada does actually have a governor, who is our actual head of state
Just they keep filling that position with Africa tier corrupt Haitian nigger and Chug females who couldn’t get hired as a daycare worker / kindergarten teacher.
Hey, America, just saying - if ya’ll want to just Manifest Destiny everything West of Ontario, I doubt there’d be much of a fight.

Would probably only take like, a weekend, if that. Ya’ll could just treat us like a cold Puerto Rico and it’d still be an improvement.
Rural Ontario wouldn’t put up a fight as well, they are likely to join the invaders
All tradeworkers are laid off right now.

No construction whatsoever.
At least Trudeau keeps the accounting employed with his retarded CRA schemes that are completely pointless and ineffective (and just take away finite time that could be better spent actually helping clients). See UHT (underutilized housing tax), the Bare trust fiasco (basically anyone that got their parents co-sign their mortgage had to file another tax return that meant absolutely nothing) and the recent GST tax holiday where it doesn’t even line up for the month of December for HST reporting (instead starting halfway into the month and ending halfway into February)

Honestly, just crashing the real estate market and yeeting the jeets would probably do the trick.
Yes. We're well on our way.

A few years of negative price movement make RE no longer a store of wealth and a broad crash is imminent.

Even the wokes are pissed off at the pajeets and severely limiting the inputs / paths to PR for tim hortons employees.

The latter will be the trigger for the former, a few tough years but glory days ahead.

It's basically a second Russia in terms of geography, population density and distribution, and obsession with tin pot dictators. Be like Russia, sell gas and resources to The EU the USA while maintaining enough local production of goods and services so you can survive long enough if anything disrupts your relations.
This hasn't been true in a long time. The US found shale gas and became a renewed energy powerhouse. They do not need us for oil/gas anymore, we need them.

We do have plenty of other resources we can supply in the form of safe & nearby partner but it's a lot like rolling the clock back 100 years in that regard.

Since when is Orangeville in the Greater Grand Theft Auto Area?

I live in a small town well outside the usual big cities. Whenever I order something from Amazon, it usually goes to Purolator. Since the Canada Post strike is going on to the point that Purolator have to freeze package deliveries, Amazon is literally routing their Prime Delivery fleet past the usual boundaries.
A functioning postal system is a hallmark of a stable, successful country. We seemingly can't even manage that at this point.

I am not taking the side of CUPW or Canada Post, but it is absurd we are about to hit a month without postal service.
Part of a functioning postal system is that it doesn't haemorrhage money year over year. We're 2024, nearly into 2025. Grandma can start signing up for eBills to be sent to her email and her pension to be direct deposited into her bank account. The idea of daily mail delivery is fucking ridiculous. If it wasn't for the fucking junk mail needing to be cleaned out and the odd Amazon package, I wouldn't have even noticed any difference.

It's been completely fucked since the 2010's.
I tried getting into welding about a decade ago and almost no one was interested in hiring first years.
First job was basically "grip it and rip it" prefab working with some thin skinned bitches.
Second job, was "fired" because they were surprised that a first year welded like a first year.
Third job, fired after a week after someone straight up lied and said that I threatened to hit him.
Fourth job, ended up getting laid off when one of the journeymen quit without any notice.
I fucking tried and now I have to deal with fucking migrants willing to do skilled labour for under minimum wage.

It was one of his 2015 election promises. I remember moving back here after a long time back then, and seeing on the news that he, almost as soon as being elected, just ditched his promise to abolish the Senate was almost unbelievable to me. I couldn't believe that someone could be elected on a major promise and just immediatately decide not to do it.

That's almost every politician, either because they don't have the power to do it, or are absolutely complete liars.

I really internalized this.

Before 2008 really, the economy 'functioned' normally. A bit worse than the US, but normal enough. You could still hand in a resume in person and get a job, you could still find tons of independent companies, small mom and pop shops, even random individually owned clothing stores, people were kind of making it in the economy, etc.

Got kind of used to the zombie economy, hundreds of people applying for one job desperately, the last of job positions without experience, noone willing to train entry level people- etc.

It was BS, but it was a BS I was used to and I could get by

Then covid happened and inflation started and I realized that nothing was really secure,

then 4 million jeets suddenly appeared

Things wern't really good before but I can remember thinking in 2019 that I had sort of gotten a grip on things at the time, and the rug literally got pulled out from under me

If you're going to form your own party it shouldn't be at the Federal or Provincial levels where all the time and energy is wasted in protest campaigns. It should be at the Municipal level where each candidate can interface directly with the public and offer them a consistent and winnable 'party' campaign at the local level.

Your chances of getting anyone elected for a municipal position is obviously a lot greater than achieving any success in the uniparty duopoly of the federal and provincial levels.

But there's still a huge hurdle to overcome at the municipal level in that there's still a huge incumbent advantage.

Established councilors are essentially acclaimed every election because there really isn't any competition or race. Voters are uninformed morons who enjoy being on the winning team by simply voting for names they recognize.

Local news coverage doesn't really exist in Current Year. The sources that do are pozzed as hell.

Municipal politics is also just as corrupt and a private club as other levels of politics. Everybody knows everybody, all the actual discussions take place in-camera away from public view and the actual debates and votes on ths council floor are all kabuke because everything has been predetermined.

As soon as a councilor goes off the reservation, the rest of the cabal starts Mean Girling their reputation, the local journoscum start smear campaigns and they start piling up "Integrity" commissioner and Code of Conduct violations.

Remember back in the days where they still pretended to deliver stuff to your door and they'd leave you those fucking "sorry we missed you" slips when you were sitting at home all day?

I used to really enjoy heading to my local Canada Post outlet with the "Missed You" slip in hand, only to be told that your package rides around all day with the mailman on his truck day-after-day.

So you have the added pleasure of being told to come late night multiple times in the hope that your parcel MIGHT be unloaded someday after he goes home from his shift.
