as you can see, a bunch of guys no one has ever heard of us going up against some lady. They all need many more seats than she currently has. Will she lose her seats and her socks? Only CANADA can decide this.

I don't even know how this shit works, so lets simplify the poll to: "Will Trudeau's Liberal party hold the majority?"

You weren't there when we had a Curfew because the federal gouvernment was tasked to deal with us like communist. Quebec seem to have forgot in 2015 that Trudeau is Pierre Eliot Trudeau's son who did this . You weren't there when just being french was a reason to get lower pay then the english. You also weren't there when we fought for having the french langage an official language for us. Bill 22 was one of our victory quebecer felt against the english. All of this helped Quebec feel not a part of Canada. That's why Quebec votes for it's own agenda, as they fear of assimilation. Of course there are independentist but Quebecer votes for people that can defend them.

If I can explain Null what is Quebec's wing, it's depends of it's agenda. 2015 was Liberal and we learn the cost. It also fuel Liberal hate for years to come. In 2011, it was NDP. In 2008 , it was the Bloc. It's always changing.

sort of, they lost in that they went in with like 40 seats and came out with 25, but they exceeded the expectations of "complete wipeout, possibly behind the Greens"

Greens elected an MP outside of BC which is kinda neat for them if you're into the whole climate thing

Andrew Scheer is a cuck and smells and I would not have sex with him, but he won the popular vote, it was his turn

It sucks. Literally the only prime Minister that actually gave a shit was Diefenbaker and only cracked because of pressure from the US. Hell Paul Martin and Stephen Harper only gave a shit cause General Hillier was basically threatening a coup to get shit done.

For non-Canadians who are unaware that we actually have a Senate, basically imagine the UK's House of Lords except instead of inbred aristocrats it's full of appointed friends of PMs. They're not required to show up to work except maybe once a year in order to collect their salary.

It's the biggest joke in the country...but maybe it has a use. Rewarding political friends with positions is corruption but can't truly be eliminated. Perhaps it's better that we have a lolcow house to stuff them in, rather than give them cabinet positions if the senate were reformed into something effective, powerful or most dreadful of all, democratic?

This is an important thing for people to realize when it comes to Proportional Reform. No politician that wins is actually in favor of it.

It's a policy only proposed by losers who want to point at it and say, "B-B-B-BUT ACCORDING TO THIS SYSTEM WE WOULD HAVE WON!" As soon as those people win, they have to nervously change the subject as now their opponent could claim the same thing. Which is what Trudeau did shortly after winning in 2015.

Keep in mind, I'm in favor of a Proportional system. I think it's a great idea but no politician is seriously committed to it and attempts at educating brain-dead boomers on its values has been an exercise in futility. I don't even think a majority of people in Canada (Or any democracy) understand how seats are counted, hence why so many people get confused at people losing the popular vote but winning power.

Agh...Diefenbaker. I know the Avro Arrow held very little use for Canada's strategic defense and very few countries were biting to buy...but that basically brain-drained our entire Aerospace engineers back then. No wonder a lot of them ended up at NASA.

Yet this country is so fucking exceptional that we made any sort of reform next to impossible because no one wants to open up the constitution. Brilliant!
