as you can see, a bunch of guys no one has ever heard of us going up against some lady. They all need many more seats than she currently has. Will she lose her seats and her socks? Only CANADA can decide this.

If anyone is interested. One Independent riding was won. It was Jody Wilson-Raybould, the Minister of Justice that Trudeau tried to press into letting the SNC affair slide in court.

Believe me, I'm aware. As much as I hate them they are smart exploiting the Canadian system as much as possible, getting all the benefits like free western money, while having none of the drawbacks. Whenever they do something that goes against the laws in Canada they get away with it because Canadian parties fear pissing off Quebec more than anything.

What gets me is that, from the sound of things, the minority Liberal party means that they will have to buddy-up with the Socialist party, allowing Socialists to influence policy. You'd THINK that by the growth of conservatives, they'd have to compromise with the conservatives, but instead the Parliamentary overton swings completely the other way.

This is clearly a broken form of government. When 40% of the country wants things one way, and 40% wants things the other way, and then the final 20% is fucking nuts in two different directions, you should obviously be looking for compromise between the two large minorities - not let the crazy people finalize things.

I don't care much about Canada, but Trudeau has gotten under my skin.

I've only been scantly following the elections, but it really was a fucking joke this time around. Between Trudeau's leftover stank and the PCs being insane as shit, it wouldn't have ended well regardless (as you might have guessed, I dun care about the other two parties enough, and neither does the rest of the country based on the votes).

If the Conservatives had a minority government in this election they would have to compromise much more with the other parties and would still likely face a vote of no confidence and have an election called after only a few years. This is because the other parties are so much closer together in terms of ideas and also have similar goals.

The Liberal party will barely have to make changes to make the other parties happy since they are so politically similar to each other. The NDP and Liberals were so similar this election they may as well have just been the same party. You are right in the fact that the Liberals might have to make some of their policies more batshit insane though. They won't give a damn about what the conservatives have to say for the next four years (there is almost no chance of an early election despite their minority government).

I can see people getting more and more upset if our elected government keeps fucking over the provinces that actually generate revenue in favor of provinces with more political seats. A country under common law is supposed to relieve the tension between groups of people but in Canada's case the court system is not politically neutral at all at the moment. Things are going to get really bad in the future.
