TODAY is the DAY that NO ONE has been talking about. Literally no one! No one cares! I've heard absolutely nothing about this! Wow!

as you can see, a bunch of guys no one has ever heard of us going up against some lady. They all need many more seats than she currently has. Will she lose her seats and her socks? Only CANADA can decide this.

I don't even know how this shit works, so lets simplify the poll to: "Will Trudeau's Liberal party hold the majority?"

For some reason, Alberta joining the US is such a meme even I know about it and I know nothing.

Alberta is the strongest province.

looks like trudeau's party is overperforming and PPC is stealing votes from the conservatives.

PM Trudeau again for the next 5 years.

They are going to tank President Trump's trade deal now with him as PM again and a house majority. Fucking Hell.

The Cons are running a generic boomer campaign and Trudeau + the CBC are hyping up the PPC to scare people. I initially predicted a lib majority for this reason.

Unfortunately, the "country" will be more divided than ever. #Wexit is trending on Twitter in my area.

That's just typical post-election derangement. Happens all the time, just like people in the USA shrieking about civil war.

Overall, I'm disappointed we have more Trudeau, but happy to see a minority government and him looking to lose the popular vote. I know popular vote means nothing and I'm not about to say it means his win is illegitimate, but I know it's going to make his ego sting.

Please let there be a Quebexit. If there is a God, please. 🙏

Is this final?
What the fuck do the French even vote for? Are they liberal or conservative leaning?

The Bloc Quebecois. A separatist party.

Western separatism has been simmering for a while, but I believe that sentiment will grow if Trudeau (and the other left-wing parties) persist with kicking Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba around.

If anyone is interested. One Independent riding was won. It was Jody Wilson-Raybould, the Minister of Justice that Trudeau tried to press into letting the SNC affair slide in court.

I'm happy for her. She showed moral integrity during that. A rare thing.

Bloc. They're separatist. Their politics have changed over the years.

Believe me, I'm aware. I'm full on Western Regionalist even if the rest of my province has forgotten that BC was kicked around in the past and like to remind people to be aware of that when the feds try to screw us. But at the same time, Western Separatism is retarded and not taken seriously when push comes to shove. Canada is stronger with both coasts.

lmao @ PPC losing their only seat

I kept telling people here that there wasn't any secret, oppressed silent PPC voter base. The whole party was just a result of Bernier torching his political career to ashes.

I'm going to sit back and observe, but four years of economic hardship and little relief from Ottawa can only push a province so far.

The French just vote for the party they think will give them the most free shit and let them do whatever they want.

As much as I hate them they are smart exploiting the Canadian system as much as possible, getting all the benefits like free western money, while having none of the drawbacks. Whenever they do something that goes against the laws in Canada they get away with it because Canadian parties fear pissing off Quebec more than anything.

Well that's what happens when you let secessionists in government. Last time that happened in the US they all got shot.

What gets me is that, from the sound of things, the minority Liberal party means that they will have to buddy-up with the Socialist party, allowing Socialists to influence policy. You'd THINK that by the growth of conservatives, they'd have to compromise with the conservatives, but instead the Parliamentary overton swings completely the other way.

This is clearly a broken form of government. When 40% of the country wants things one way, and 40% wants things the other way, and then the final 20% is fucking nuts in two different directions, you should obviously be looking for compromise between the two large minorities - not let the crazy people finalize things.

This news leaves me deeply angered and depressed.

I don't care much about Canada, but Trudeau has gotten under my skin.
I've only been scantly following the elections, but it really was a fucking joke this time around. Between Trudeau's leftover stank and the PCs being insane as shit, it wouldn't have ended well regardless (as you might have guessed, I dun care about the other two parties enough, and neither does the rest of the country based on the votes).

Still unofficial totals, but if it holds up, it would hilarious, more interesting than the entire election has been.

Wait, a party getting more votes but less seats and thus loosing? It reminds me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it...

I guess it is a good thing for Trudeau and the Liberals that they broke their promise on electoral reform back when they ran in 2015.

So NDP/Jughead lost pretty bad? That’s hilarious, hope he goes back to making bad tik toks.

If the Conservatives had a minority government in this election they would have to compromise much more with the other parties and would still likely face a vote of no confidence and have an election called after only a few years. This is because the other parties are so much closer together in terms of ideas and also have similar goals.

The Liberal party will barely have to make changes to make the other parties happy since they are so politically similar to each other. The NDP and Liberals were so similar this election they may as well have just been the same party. You are right in the fact that the Liberals might have to make some of their policies more batshit insane though. They won't give a damn about what the conservatives have to say for the next four years (there is almost no chance of an early election despite their minority government).

Here is a political chart to illustrate this:

I can see people getting more and more upset if our elected government keeps fucking over the provinces that actually generate revenue in favor of provinces with more political seats. A country under common law is supposed to relieve the tension between groups of people but in Canada's case the court system is not politically neutral at all at the moment. Things are going to get really bad in the future.
