Bubsy Returns - What could possibly go wrong

The problem with Bubsy's return is that he doesn't fully acknowledge his shittiness. C'mon, lampshade this stuff. Honestly, a clever writer could turn Bubsy into an existential hero who writhes in self-hatred when he isn't spouting horrible one-liners in a futile attempt to be Sonic.

I think the closest they actually do come to some self awareness that Bubsy is a terrible character is an option in the last game where you can adjust how often Bubsy speaks and the highest setting is literally titled "Bubsy".

Goddamn, you read my thoughts. I was talking with a mate about this game and that's the exact same proposal I had, to just make it stupidly edgy and over-the-top like Conker. It'd be amazing.
