A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Watched that on telly. Hilarious bit where the voice over of some black person came on saying what "being English" meant to him. From what I recall it was: complaining about the weather, asking how many sugars you want in your tea, and.... multiculturalism (going from my Turkish barbers to the Polish butchers to the Indian takeaway!) all while the flags of literally every country on earth were projected onto the London Eye. 0/10, would not watch again.

Migrant figures have dropped; figures are highest since 2022.
A total of 41,472 migrants crossed the Channel in small boats in 2025 - almost 5,000 more than the previous year.

Home Office figures showed a 13% rise on the 36,566 total in 2024.

It was the highest number since 2022, when nearly 46,000 migrants crossed.

The government says it has already removed 50,000 people who were in the UK illegally and is working more closely with the French government.
There were 28 days without any crossings from 15 November to 12 December, which some observers attributed to strong winds in the Channel.

Twitterites kept pointing at windy days as proof that labour was fixing the problem. I know starmer is full of hot air, but even he can't whip up a storm in the channel on demand.

If those had been calm days, we'd have had even more incoming and probably would have exceeded the 2022 record by a pretty wide margin.

I'm on board with almost all of this, but I'm not sure I agree that Laws doesn't have a sound ideological basis for his beliefs - it seems pretty clear to me that his ideology is simply that England is for the English, and that's the beginning and the end of it.

WRT wanting "a strong far right position from someone that doesn't come off as a football hooligan yob," why do you think that's necessary? Realistically, who do you think would be won over by such a character? From personal experience, I don't think there's a latent far-right contingent lurking in the upper middle class, just waiting to be given permission to out themselves by the arrival of an eloquent, educated leader, but I would be absolutely overjoyedif I were proved wrong. For the most part, the people who see and feel the negatives of mass immigration are the lower classes, and I think those are the people who need to be brought together and mobilised if there's going to be any chance of changing things. I don't necessarily think Steve Laws is the man for the job, but he's not a million miles away either.

Again, I agree, with one exception: I'd never heard the counter-argument against remigration that Laws made and I think it's a good point (namely, people say it's preposterous to suggest that 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants be deported to their parents'/grandparents' country of origin, as "they've never even been there!" - but nobody ever says that about migration in the first place, do they? Many of the people who arrived on the Windrush had never been to England, and they did okay, so why shouldn't it work in reverse?)

I also think that when the time comes and someone emerges to deal with this problem, that person will not be relying on cogent arguments, clearly articulated. They will be tapping into the raw, uncontrolled rage of people who have been sidelined, mocked, ignored, stolen from, humiliated, and brutalised, for years or possibly generations.

Never a truer word spoken. I was pretty liberal before covid (hated Trump, thought brexit was a disaster etc) but that's all long gone now. Having been a lib is helpful though, because I know how they think so I know how to phrase arguments so that they don't have a comeback. I'd recommend casually chatting to your liberal mates about stunting in the development of Indian children living in communities where street-shitting is the norm. There's nothing wrong with their diets, the UN has done direct comparisons between India and Africa, and African kids have worse diets and better outcomes. The issue is that Indian kids growing up in environments saturated in human faecal matter expend vast amounts of energy just fighting off the chronic infections, and that leaves nothing for their developing brains and bodies. My white normie liberal friends and family cannot engage with this topic at all, they literally just look at me mutely when I talk about it and then change the subject. They cannot admit out loud that any aspect of a non-white culture is objectively bad and harmful.

Nationalism in classical music was a big trend across Europe in the early 19th century. Sibelius' 'Finlandia' is a particularly lush example. Vaughan Williams and Elgar are still icons of English music, but it's looking increasingly unlikely that we'll ever see a British composer capable of anything close to what they achieved; music is barely taught in schools, and what little is taught is all "ethnic" gamelan and African drumming. A GCSE student doesn't need to be able to read or write western music notation at all to achieve a top grade. Universities across the country are closing their music departments entirely because they can't attract students.

They think this way because they quite simply aren't part of the same civilisation we are, not even all Native Born Indigenous Ethnic Britons ™️ are really, because it's something you sort of have to opt-in to. There's prerequisites of course, not being fucking brown is a major one, the rest of it mostly falls into place since that's just how tribes work. They aren't part of our tribe, we might share blood with them but they are not initiated, they might be in the future, but it's some real cringe Matrix "system-dependency" style shit which is what keeps utter tools like sargoy of acuck kosher.

What's worth remembering is that the government is being forced, reluctantly, to address the issue in an attempt to retain voter support. Reform's abrupt rise has them spooked and their efforts to outflank the right risks a snowball effect that could easily lead to mass remigration within just a few years.

There's also a very high possibility of civil conflict sooner rather than later. Holland, which is further along the expulsion curve than we are, is basically in a state of civil war right now.

But for the actual question of should we kick them all out? The answer should simply be yes because almost every single one of you have shown to have a far greater in-group preference towards yourselves at the expense of the natives. The ratio of "good ones" to "bad ones" is like 5/95 at the very best and at this point, no we don't want you here because it's clear you at best want to just play us for all of or wealth and at worst actively hate us. Values mean nothing when it is the most easy thing to fake or pay lip service to, more so when we are at the point were they don't even put up that illusion anymore.

At the very least and I mean very least, we should have no foreigners in government or the home office and all foreigners should be bared from benefits, NHS, etc.

The difficulty with them saying that openly would result in the MSM having an apoplectic fit and demanding that their channel be nuked and that anybody involved with them be arrested.

We can say whatever we want here, it's truly the last bastion of freedom, but on the clear web and social media you can't say 'Infinite Nigger/Paki Death Now' without firstly upsetting the easily upsettable and then having your evening ruined by a visit from PC Plod.

What IMO has to happen is that firstly Reform UK take office and then the march towards kicking out the undesirables becomes less of a problem in that the wokes and the politically correct by that point have either become mentally exhausted to fight or are languishing in prison cells (or dead from suicide - I'd personally take that). Things have to be done in order and we can't run before we walk.

On here, the mindset among most of us is the same, that doesn't translate to the real world - some people have yet to smell the coffee or 'wear the glasses' (yes, I did watch 'They Live' yet again over Christmas) and even with Nigel as PM it will take them ages to disconnect their thinking... for some, they will always be right in their minds as they are smart and therefore can never be wrong.

The thing which gives me hope on the Migrants issue is that now even those rich people who previously were fine with it are now saying 'actually, this is wrong'. It's okay for Rapey and Stabby to do stuff away from their doorsteps, but when Rapey and Stabby are coming to their quiet villages in the Home Counties and making their lives a living hell... oh, then that of course is very bad.

The Overton Window shift is catching politicians in Labour and the Tories cold - they no longer control the narrative and can't deal with the peons voicing their discontent.
