A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

White people take way more to break than blacks, but when they do, white chimp-outs are unstoppable forces of nature that can't be stopped without major reforms taking place.

The amount of holier-than-thous on Twitter at the time squealing that ‘poverty is driving this, people are stealing food and baby milk because they can’t afford it!’ was unbelievable. Even as the photos of piles of stolen goods for sale on Facebook and Twitter were right next to their tweets. Some people are so committed to their political ideology that there’s no room for reality. There were also kids of rich parents pretending to be poor political firebrands, joining in and live tweeting from ‘the front lines’ with breathless excitement, when they’d get ripped to shreds by the ug contingent if they ever met.

As ever, class is the main divide in Britain, still. Race has just complicated things and given class even more shit excuses.

The police sat back for three days with the London riots and did fuck all, presumably because they were a) scared of being called racist, and b) knew they were outnumbered. People in my neck of the woods were genuinely scared and angry at how powerless everyone was in the face of marauding gangs of ugs. Watching people get burned out of their flats while ugs wait by to run in and steal stuff as the people are leaving was absolutely enraging - streamed live on tv, of course.

But it’s all because poor widdle minorities. Yeah, who can’t stop selling drugs, killing each other and making their areas miserable for everyone else.

Adding onto what Otterly was saying. Each family is assigned a Family Liaison Officer who's job it is to talk to the family of the victim and rely information to them. By their own admission though they're investigators first and there to investigate, not look after the family. To summarise, they are not on the family's side and they control what information they get. Its entirely possible that they filter the information the families get so they don't end up getting too red pilled.

I remember when Chris Kaba was in the news, when all the BLM stuff made its way over here.

The mum had a restraining order, he was part of a big gang, he just shot someone in a nightclub a few days before he was in a high-speed chase and rammed cop cars before they were forced to shoot him. The parents were openly weeping on the news before the truth came out. We kept seeing the nice picture of him smiling during the first reports. The family was still trying to put the armed officer through the fucking wringer last I read.

Did the police really arrest and handcuff the guy who got stabbed by that Jeet and let the Jeet walk because he said YT was being racist? The guy who ended up bleeding out and dying in the street while being questioned by the police about his "racist remarks"?

Or is this just more shit flying around on Twatter?

Restore Branch in Makerfield are meeting now and will make a decision over the weekend about if they'll run a candidate or not. Lowe seems enthusiastic. If they do, I really hope they're ready for it, because if they did split the vote in a way that makes it look like Reform would have won it, it could be damaging for them going forward.

OK I had to do some digging, like real digging, to get some actual facts on the stabbing thing and it turns out it's true.

Lobbenberg told jurors that rather than helping the injured student, Digwa instead accused him of racism and intoxication. The court heard police officers initially handcuffed Nowak after arriving at the scene because of allegations made against him by the alleged attacker, before realizing the severity of his injuries and beginning emergency treatment.
“Shortly afterwards, Henry became unconscious,” the prosecutor said. “Police began to set to work to give him first aid and summon an ambulance.” Despite the arrival of a doctor by helicopter, Nowak could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination later found he had suffered four stab wounds.
The court also heard that Nowak’s mobile phone was allegedly discovered in Digwa’s pocket after the incident.
Digwa’s mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, is accused of helping remove the knife from the scene. Prosecutors allege she was captured on video taking the weapon to the family home in nearby St Deny’s Road, where police later recovered it.
Digwa denies murder and possessing a knife in a public place. Kaur denies assisting an offender.

Long story short the dude was on his way back from the pub, talking to his friends on Snapchat when he gets confronted by the Jeet with the "ceremonial dagger", a short back and forth happens and the Jeet stabs the guy 4 times. When the cops show up (the neighbours heard the cries for help and called) the Jeet tells them the white guy was calling him "racist terms" and the cops promptly handcuffed the victim while he was bleeding out in the street. While the cops are busy with the death the Jeet then runs home to his Mommy who quickly cleans and hides the knife.

The only reason the Jeet got arrested was that Snapchat was giong the whole time and the Jeet kept the phone.

So of course with such evidence the Jeet will be going to jail for murder and the police who manhandled and handcuffed a victim who was "gushing blood" will face punishment...right?

right?

Who am I kidding, the Jeet will get a slap on the wrist and the dead white guy will be vilified for being an ebil racist while the cops get nothing for letting someone die because they wanted to get thier quota of racists arrests filled.

A horrific rape was caught on CCTV outside a 'luxury flat' in Streatham in broad daylight. The woman has not come forward and police are concerned for her wellbeing (emphasis mine). It is my belief that she is not just traumatised, but believes she will not be believed or taken seriously due to the attacker being one of the special class; it's somewhat weird to see the police finally give accurate descriptions of attackers. The Metropolitan Police has released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a rape attack in Streatham, south London.
The attack took place at 5:30am outside Gaumont Place on May 12. The attack was not reported at the time, but was captured on CCTV. The police were made aware the following day.
The man has been described as black, of medium build, and in his early 30s.
Specialist officers are also appealing for the victim to contact police.
Detective Constable Charlie Codrington, who is leading the investigation, said: “We know the woman in this footage will be scared, but we urge her to contact the police. We are concerned for her wellbeing and officers are here to provide her with welfare, medical and trained support.
“This was a horrifying incident which took place in broad daylight, close to a busy high street. We have released images of a man we need to trace and would urge anyone who recognises him to contact us.
"If you have any further information about what happened, please come forward.”
