If you want to give Wu benefits of doubt (lets say you're in giving mood) she might be telling Jake type of half-truths. Sony, some years after releasing PSX, started selling a "hobbyist devkit" for under $1000, it was a modified console that had debugging capabilities and you could build against it.

The dates don't line up, though, as from what I recall of the tweet where Wu claimed to have been given the PSX, it was to them as a child, but the Net Yaroze wasn't out until 1996.

Guess who was in college and not a ten year old in 1996.
 
Nothing about Wu lines up correctly, the man can't even put on a pair of glasses in a way that doesn't look deranged and whenever he talks about getting a professional $300 blow-out his hair ends up looking like he just poked a live light socket. He's crooked mentally and he's also physically crooked, dear god, there's just not a single straight thing about him.

The PSX wasn't even a thing until 1994 anyways, so even if we assume the truth of the lie is "My parents got me a PSX for my birthday" John would still have been way older than 10.

John feigning concern for other people's feelings is nothing short of outré. In reality, he has no concern for anything about them, including their lives.

On the other hand, revealing that he doesn't know the difference between fallible and infallible is perfectly in character.

Finally, maybe Frank will tell John that in any room in which John is present, John is both the least competent person and the biggest jerk in attendance.
 
Wu has been reading her Truisms For Middle Management Weekly again. I'm sure it would be easy to Bri to point to all those real teams she worked on and the plethora of products they shipped.

Ah, he watched the movie.

In the book, the soldiers are told by Jack and the guys helping him the actual guilty parties are their superiors in their chain of command, which is actually accurate to the book and movie version of events.

Basically, this metaphor fails hard because John is too lazy to read the source and doesn't realize the movie bastardized the source quite a bit.
