Also it's basic in English to refer to inanimate objects as "She/Her". See also - Planes, Ships, Cars, etc.

For someone who claims to be a professional journalist, Flynt/Wu's ignorance of how pronouns work in the English language is quite amazing.

Ships, for example, are frequently referred to using female pronouns, but no sane person writes that "if you can respect the identity of the USS Missouri, you can respect the identity of a trans woman."
