I dunno John, that would be a pretty expensive investment just so you could have a three minute jack off session.
Certainly economist and crypto bro John Flynt understands the market more than anyone else does.

hmm, what is it about "waning demand" in that article that John doesn't get
"it's not that expensive to hire a spin coach and record classes"
John DOES know that Spin is a brand name right? It kind of speaks to who has a major footprint in the market
He also mentions "revenue" but doesn't cover actual profit or how saturated the market may be ("waning demand" remember John?)
it's a durable good, so these "fanatical followers" may already be covered, esp as they aren't actual cyclists (more on that in a second)
"The apple" of the space may be right, or maybe like neXt -- a lot of people may see it as overpriced and a closed ecosystem.
Since, like John points out, there isn't anything special about hiring an indoor cycling instructor - so why anchor yourself to a single system?
remember way back when (yesterday) John was all about how Activision doesn't have any knowledge edge in VR? well, like he points out -- what Peloton is doing isn't anything special.
Pelotons are "dumb" bikes (I mean that in the technical sense) they are manual resistance bikes that are fundamentally plain vanilla gym bikes
The ones for cyclists are quite a bit different "smart" bikes automated resistance Wattbike, Tacx (now owned by Garmin), wahoo that match the training profile and they operate on *gasp* on other platforms for cyclists Zwift, Rouvy, Trainerroad, etc -- Using ANT+ and Bluetooth
These even let you program in shifting, and the wahoo will do stuff like apply negative resistance for downhills (it matters b/c that's when you spin and clear lactate) and even elevates to put you in climbing position
John wants to pretend it's the l33t indoor bike -- it's not. It's a Becky bike. The saying about Peloton is "Peloton, the bike for people who will never be in one"
or WAS, I think it might now be "Peloton, not for toddlers" (not making light of the tragedy, pointing out that ding sure doesn't help)
John's a poseur in that space.
